Now we have no idea how the Indians celebrated. Maybe they had a similar thing? They weren't home though, so who knows what happened? I do know that there was a lot of coverage/attention to the Cubs' celebration itself, which is rare outside a Championship celebration.
It all probably means nothing and is just background noise... but if the Indians Win game 2, if I were a fan, I would definitely be questioning the events after the NLCS Clinching game.
I think the party at his house is awesome.
I think that most of the players and some of the team employees went there to be together and celebrate is awesome.
I certainly think that having superfan EV there to play some music and party with them is awesome.
I think John Lester is a moron of the first degree. Admitting to do this is even dumber than doing it. (And this isn't his first rodeo, can't give him the 'Excited Kid' excuse if one were so inclined.)
Glad nobody got hurt and they had a blast. Sure it had zero impact on the game...just wish I hadn't read this because now I am just going to thing "A-Hole" when I see Lester on the dot.
I don't see it as a big deal. He lives very close to Wrigley. Not even far enough to start going fast. Then factor in he also traveled down alleys. Aside rom that, Wrigleyville was still hopping at this point. Kind of lIke leaving a concert, people try to carefully maneuver their way out as quickly as possible...regardless of how long others wait because of their impatience.
To think "A-Hole" every time you see him now us a little absurd because he broke a traffic law. Whenever you see my posts, you can think "A-Hole" because I occasionally go faster than the speed limit, have knowingly turned right on red with a "No turn on red" sign present and have changed lanes without the use of a turn signal. Yes, I am an "A-Hole".
Curious though...do you find Eddie Vedder to be an "A-Hole"? I mean, he posted a picture of himself on his own Facebook on Wrigley Field while holding a lit cigarette. Against the law in Chicago. If you tried that, you would be kicked out of Wrigley and likely receive a fine.

Just because I'm not saying it at the end of every post I make, doesn't mean I haven't said we took too many strikes and need to protect the plate. A few of those were on called third strikes. It absolutely makes a difference. No I'm not blaming the ump for losing. Had plenty of chances to get back in that game, and didn't - and those had nothing to do with called third strikes. To me, there were two serious points where the game could've changed. The first was not scoring from second base on the Javy base hit, down 3. The second was leaving Ross - who was already coming out - in to hit with the bases loaded, albeit, with 2 out against Miller. I would've really liked to see Soler in that spot.pjalive21 said:if missed calls are 10-7 what is there to complain about??? Driving the wrong way down a street (he said it, not me) could kill people. This is dumb, this is a fact. This makes you a A-Hole - this is my opinion.
The examples you give of your driving does not equate to driving the wrong way on streets. If anyone told me that they drove down the street going the wrong way on purpose I would hold the same opinion of them that I hold of Lester.
Have you known anyone killed in car accidents?
If you have, I am surprised that you find it funny for a guy to laugh about driving the wrong way on streets because he wanted to get to a party and to brag that he figured he would be OK if he got stopped because he plays baseball for a living.
Feel perfectly secure in my opinion of him.
Ed smoking a cigarette while on the field? Why would I care about that? This isn't about breaking laws...it is about potentially injuring others as a direct result of your impatience to get home to party and bragging about it, going as far as saying you figured you might get away with it because your team is headed to the WS.
You are absolutely good with your position that it isn't a big deal....we just disagree. I dont need to try and imagine what it was like to read his statement and take him on his word. The love he receives is the love that is saved0 -
I like tonight's lineup.
Hope Jake doesn't mind that Willson is catching him.0 -
Definitely see your point, but its all part of the game...no worries look what the Cubs did to LA when people thought they were down they came and put 3 games worth of a beat down on them...you're golden...sorry if my post came off harsh i just saw the numbers and 10-7 wasn't as skewed as some people made it to be...best of luck tonightGtilley8 said:

I like the look of tonight's lineup as well. And Bauer hasn't exactly been lights out. Hopefully we can knock him around. I think his ERA is almost 7.0

"Aces" jakes term for himself, not mine, shouldn't give a bleep who catches for em. They should put 0's up on the scoreboard. Time to put up or shut up Jake. Your 4.9 era this postseason won't cut it toinght. Gotta be better.PJ-Cubs said:I like tonight's lineup.

Would've been nice. Their end of the 7th was eerily similar to ours last night, in that they threatened. Been real impressed with Montgomery's game tonight. I just want to see 6 more outs at this point, beat the rain, go back home with Hendricks on the mound for game 3, tied 1-1.PJ-Cubs said:We needed a few insurance runs in the top of the 7th.
