What Springsteen and Dylan songs have been covered?

  • Include Masters of War from Fenway. Easily the best version I've ever heard.

And likewise, the version at Wrigley was easily the best version I've heard. Include them both!
Wrigley doesn't exist with good audio (?).

Thinking about Masters of War from Letterman. Eddies voice on that is ace. Don't think fenway can touch it. But will have a listen.

All along the Watchtower is the hard one.

And although it's a cover, there is a version of Eddie and Bruce doing "Highway to Hell" out there, just for fun

This year, Dylan finally hit me out of nowhere and I've become a HUGE fan. I wish Eddie would branch out a bit and tackle some other Dylan songs. Something like "Don't Think Twice, It's Alright" would sound great with Ed singing it in his deep baritone voice.
I'd kill to hear Ed cover stuff like:

    Just Like A Woman
    Shelter From The Storm
    She Belongs To Me
    Huck's Tune
    Oh, Sister
    Not Dark Yet

Come on Eddie, grow some balls :)

would be cool to see some BOTT or Desire era covers. Not Dark Yet would be really interesting to hear.
currently the only cover versions that tops the original is probably Watchtower and Masters of War.

Agree with the above poster. the All Along the Watchtower from Charlotte 2013 was a must. def over Times. not a fan of Ed solo covering Dylan.

I would definitely add State Trooper, Atlantic City and No Surrender to the Bruce list.. He did State Trooper and Atlantic City a few times (there are some good sounding versions from his 2011 shows).. No Surrender, the only time Ed covered this by himself was the preset of 2006-06-03, just him and an acoustic guitar.

    But I don't have them :(

And the No Surrender one I had was to low volume, didn't mix with the others :( The Atlantic City I had, from 2005(?). was bad quality :/

Will have to check out that AATW from 2013.

  • Hmm. AATW from Charlotte sounded great. Don't know if the Audience recording is good quality enough though. Hmm hmm. Can't afford buying the boot from one song. Just spent 30 dollars on a bottle of wine for him and 15 dollars on CD-Rs looking like small vinyl discs. Haha.
