    Pearl Jam "Ten".

I was 12 and I mowed this guy's lawn on Saturdays. I bought "Ten" the first time I got paid.

Did anyone else check out records from the library? When we were kids my mom would take us once a week to get a few books and 1 record. My sister always checked out Thriller and I always got Sgt. Peppers. I loved that album cover, and understood none of the music.

The first first album I ever bought was Let It Be on tape. Shortly after that I remember getting Who's Next on tape from my cousin and it was on from there..

    And that's how it's done!

Jesus, some of you are making me feel my actual age.

Ratt. Invasion of your privacy. I'll defend that shit all day.

    I am not a Ratt-lover.

But your username made me think of my beloved Frampton Comes Alive (still have my original vinyl)!

And now digging on a lovely acoustic version of Do You Feel, albeit sans Bob.

At 12 years old I got a gift certificate (actual certificate...on paper) to Tower Records and bought four albums:
    1. Judas Priest-Screaming for Vengance
    2. Pat Benatar-Precious Time
    3. Rush-Moving Pictures
    4. Styx-Paradise Theater

I got my first single play cd player and bought two cd's out of the chute:
    1. Sinead O'Connor-Lion and the Cobra
    2. Sisters of Mercy-Floodland

Both were released in 1987 and purchased early during my first year at university.

You can't make this sh!t up....

Sure...I am quoting myself...but can you imagine being a rock star and getting asked who were the bands that influenced you in your youth?....you respond with Judas Priest, Pat Benatar, Rush, Styx, Sinead O'Connor and Sisters of Mercy...I am pretty sure that no one has ever provided that as their answer.
