I agree. I've never been to chicago before and there's no way I have it in me to wait 7 hours to buy merch. I'll probably end up buying the poster/tshirt I want from ebay (allthough I'll wait to see if the artists or PJ sell some directly).

I was there at 630 and got everything I wanted. The eagle print is metallic, I'd post a pic if I could figure it out

I waited from noon until almost 6 to get almost nothing. The line got slower the closer we got to the front. I was really hoping for the Faile poster. It was the only one I really wanted. So I took what they had left, The Feldman. So, if anyone has a spare Faile and want to trade, please let me know. We will be at the show on Saturday.

Oh, and thank you again to the couple from Florida sharing your fries! And to the guy from the restaurant passing out water

Please do. I'd love to see those metallics.

This must look much better in person. It's the only one I want.

Just a few things to add as someone that spent 7 hours in line for merch. Got there at 9, left at 4, dead serious.

All 5 posters were still available when I left at 4pm, and I was the 193rd customer. They guy at the front door had one of those clicker-counters. Like everyone said they only had 3 people ringing you up on one table, but had to run in the back (metro's inner staircase) to get the shirts.

Did it suck? Yes. Did I get everything I wanted (Posters, Coozie, Stickers, Trading Cards, Flag, All The Way T)? Yes. But Merch was pretty good about restocking. I'm surprised they sold out of posters, a couple of times someone counted the line only to run across the street to get a single box of posters. I'm not saying they dipped into another day's allotment (at a minimum), but if they did, I appreciate it.

I have no doubt they made a bunch of everything, similar to Fenway, so I really wouldn't stress. Tomorrow at 4pm, it'll be a breeze to dip in. They just didn't have enough staff today, a problem fixed with 6 people on every truck.

7 hours waiting on a line! Yikes. I'm gad to hear that you got everything you wanted. There's no way I'd ever wait on any line for any item for that long - to each their own. There must be a lot of h-angry people down there :)

This is just ludicrous. I can not even begin to fathom waiting in a fucking merch line for 7 hours. It's not worth the aggravation.

I mentally prepared myself before going to Boston that I wasn't going to wait in any ridiculous lines and guess what? I never did because there weren't any. I went to four different merch stands, got literally everything I wanted and waited a total of 20 minutes combined. I expect the same thing to be the case when I hit Chicago on Saturday morning or I just ain't buying shit.

It was not a staff issue. They did not have enough items available. The guy who runs the merchandise (same guy every year) talked to us. About 500 posters each style allocated per day. Once they are gone they are gone.
Today took 7hrs or so. 250 people or so. I was 252.
People were less than efficient but they would have sold out regardless. We didn't run out of time.

You don't set out to wait I line for 7hrs. You get in line thinking you will be there for 2 max. Then 2 goes to 3. Like arguments with your spouse, you dig for the long haul and 7hrs goes by. Before you know it you hate life when they sell out 10 people in front of you.

Get there early or be prepared for XXXL women's tank tops with a flamingo on it.

I know I'm slow but I keep looking. Limits normal? Never been able to buy cards before so those I don't know.

I like this philosophy! I'll meet you in Chicago on Sunday and we can drink beer while everyone else waits in line :-)

Mid-afternoon on ticket pickup days went really well for Fenway. Not everything was available, but I got what I needed.

Can you imagine being in Chicago for the first time ever, and waiting in line for 6 hours for a particular poster, and when you step forward, it's your fucking moment, you lock eyes with the sales person and they tell you that they just sold the last poster right before you...
My god, I would go full Michael Douglas in Falling Down.
    This stuff needs to stop.

this made me chuckle, i love that film

Speaking of the baseball cards....guy in front of me walked out with 2 complete boxes even though there was a clearly stated 10 pack limit. Those will more than likely disappear before this all wraps up on Monday/Tuesday.

Looking for a card trade! I have Fenway!!!

Fenway packs for Wrigley packs and Fenway empty box for wrigley empty!
  • I was stressed out about how the merch situation was going to work at Fenway (born and raised in Boston and PJ at Fenway was a dream come true). It turned out that I didn't have to worry. They had PLENTY of stuff and I was able to get everything I wanted. I picked up the Thomas print inside Fenway night 1. Just get to Wrigley and be there when the gates open (there were not long lines to get in at Fenway) and you should be able to get what you want. Also, there were no lines for the merch stands at ticket pick-up either (I went on Sat the day before to pick up my 10C tickets).

R-E-L-A-X! You should not have to wait 7 hours to get your stuff! The 10C did a great job at Fenway and I would expect that it will be the same for Wrigley.

How's the line forming today? Is it over 1 block long yet?

    Good luck.
