why would anyone want anything close to resembling Donald Trump in a poster? the point of art is to display it, and who the fuck wants that asshole on their wall?

True. The idea of mocking Trump is great, but I wouldn't want to look at that asshole on my wall.
All valid points - but they did the same with Bush on many posters.

I have no issue with an artist making a statement... no beef there... just don't see why fans would get excited about it

I agree. But I also don't get why people get excited about stickers and pins lol. To each his own!
I don't get the pins either... but I love the stickers and think they end up being a better piece of "art" or image to commemorate the shows than most of the posters nowadays

    Poster idea:

Have Hillary Clinton lose her email server in the Wrigley Ivy.... while Donald Trump lose his mouth in the Ivy ....
Have the Ivy Spell out Pearl Jam... Aug 22nd...

    Done.

I guess some of the artists are more concerned with "making a point" than making a poster for display or to really commemorate the show, because a lot of the posters really can't be hung on the wall. I mean, they can be, but I can't see many adults having the Philly Emek or a picture of George Bush on their wall. Probably most just sit in flat files.

As far as the pins and stickers -- I really like them. They are cheap, easy to save/store, and nice commemorative item from the show. A poster is $50+ and need to be stored in a flat file or on the wall, which costs another $250 or so. So I can get a sticker, pin, key chain, etc. for $2-$5 or buy a poster which if I want to hang up costs $300+

I agree. The Philly Emek is nice/cool.... but I do not/would not want that image on my wall. Most skull posters fit into that category. Also: Ravenous Birds, Clowns, Spliced Animals, many Over-sized posters.

Philly emek is most def going on my wall assuming I can afford to frame it at some point. However, it'll be in the basement/family room not the upstairs living room. At first I didn't like it but now I love the statement and the colors are beautiful. Skulls and animal heads=basement. Owls and other peaceful animals=hallway outside kids rooms. Snack boxes and baseball players=dining room. Guitars and waves=bedroom or living room.

skulls is a deal breaker for me

Agreed.... London, Ontario, 2013 - I couldn't buy that one due to the central skull image - and it ended up being a terrific show. Why do some artists visualize morbid things like skulls when a Pearl Jam concert is the focus?

artists that want to make a political statement need to talk with Brad Klausen...

the 2006 DC reaper is a perfect gig poster/statement wrapped in one... and it required zero images of George Bush or any other politician

the imagery may be a little dark or negative for some to hang in their home, but I just think it is perfect... and frankly I think it is their best gig poster ever
