For the most part I think it counts...particularly Arc. No way PJ will ever play that because you'd need silence. EV got his crowds to stay quiet for a few minutes to pull this off but a PJ crowd would never shut up long enough for Arc!this city is so filthy, like my mind in ways0

He played it 9 times at PJ shows in 2003 but I agree that it likely won't be done at a Pearl Jam show again. Never say never though.Washed said:For the most part I think it counts...particularly Arc. No way PJ will ever play that because you'd need silence. From my viewpoint, unless Sometimes is played during a PJ show I wouldn't count it on my list of Pearl Jam songs seen.

cant wait for some vedder solo tour action... love seeing him solo0

Hard Sun is not a Pearl Jam song... so... why even count that as a Pearl Jam song if you for some reason are counting Pearl Jam songs...
Arc should have stayed being a song played 9 times, one for each victim.
Be happy too see Sometimse, in what way you may see it.

Heard Arc at both PJ and EV shows. I would say I've crossed off PJ songs I've heard at EV shows. Several, actually:
Sleeping By Myself (I guess this one doesn't count, since there are two versions)
 Dead Man
 Just Breathe
 Man of the Hour
 I'm Open
 Off He Goes
 Unthought Known
 Long Road
Parting WaysYour boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

So if we are talking pj songs at Ev shows and then counting as pj songs to cross off i get to add:
 Off he goes
 Santa Cruz
 Love Boat captain
 Dead man
 Thumbing my way
 The End
 Sleeping by myself

WHOA! Had no idea Arc had been played at PJ shows. Should have looked before I opened my mouth. Wonder how it was (and if he did it with the echo machine)? Thanks for the info.bootlegger10 said:

I saw arc done at a PJ show in Dallas 2003. It was the 2nd time played. It was cool to see, but I don't remember the crowd being quiet like Ed had asked. He did have the echo machine, and headphones and a spotlight on him. Arc actually opened the first encore, followed by can't keep. Sadly, I've never been able to find an audience recording, as it was omitted from the original boots.Washed said:

 IDK,
The way I see it, until I hear PJ play Can't Keep, I don't feel like I've heard the proper version, even though I heard Ed do it solo.
I saw him play Sometimes solo in 2011, but that couldn't compare to hearing the band play it in Hartford in '13.
To each his own, but for me........ I don't consider myself to have seen the PJ song until I've seen PJ perform it.
But wtf do I know? It's all subjective.0

from what I can recall, in Fargo, it started the show. pretty sure he was behind the curtain still. Or I at least couldn't see him.red mos said:

            Shit, I don't even HAVE a list!
I count myself fortunate to have witnessed the first performance of Arc, though. Absolute and unexpectedly emotional beauty.0
-
I consider them played IMO. Having seen them performed live by the original vocalist and writer is good enough for me.0
-
Separate lists, different experiences. I've previously heard Eddie perform Sleeping By Myself a few times but it didn't come off my Pearl Jam list until this past weekend at Fenway. Same thing with Man Of The Hour a few years ago.___________________________________________

I always count them. EV is my favorite and all the songs I count are great acoustic tracks which work without the rest of the band. For example, Thumbing My Way, Around the Bend and Arc.
I know a lot of other people don't count them. Whatever people want to do is cool.severed hand thirteen2006: Gorge 7/23 2008: Hartford 6/27 Beacon 7/1 2009: Spectrum 10/30-31

I saw Arc three times in 03 and it was great. My favorite would probably be Council Bluffs. It opened the show before ripping into Save You.
The band chose to leave these versions off of the bootlegs. But, as stated above, these versions were very similar to the solo show versions.0

Arc was one of the coolest things I have ever seen at a show. Believe he was using a looping machine. The textures cranked up at the show were awesome. Saw it at the 3rd Mansfield show in 03 I believe.looking to hear of the earth0

            Nope. Doesnt count0
