What really got me into QOTSA is "Over the years and through the Woods"....The cd is basically their greatest hits live and seeing the live in a small club in 07....

But what hit it out of the park for me was the live shows from 3 years before that because they were a totally different band live because of Dave Grohl on drums , and Mark Lanegan, Nick Oliveri on some vocals.... Songs like "Millionaire", Auto Pilot" "Gonna Leave You", God is in the Radio" "Song for the deaf" & "Dead", "Hangin Tree" "In the Fade".... All just great songs.....
There are 3 B-sides out there I think you should check out: "Infinity", The Bronze", Born to Hula".......

I really got into "R", "Self Titled" and "Lullibies to Paralyze" the most.... Still have not listened to Clockwork enough to comment on it, except I still Miss Lanegan & Oliveri when I listen to it....

Besides the 11 songs above, this is my QOTSA playlist that I put in MP3 cd....
    Better living through Chemistry
    How to Handle a Rope
    You Would Know
    I can`t quit you baby
    Mexicola
    Feel Good Hit
    Avon
    Into the Hollow
    Turnin the Screw
    3`s & 7`s
    This Lulliby
    Medication >(into)
Little Sister ( thanks to Eddie for suggesting that combo on PJ Radio)
    E`body Knows- Insane
Tangled up in Plaid (arguably my favorite QOTSA song)
    Burn the Witch
In My Head (Was in Need for Speed Underground 2 back in the day:)
These next few songs are what a lot hate about Lullibies, but I personally love)
    Blood is Love
    Skin on Skin
    Broken Box (Pussy)
    Someone in the Wolf

Monsters in the Parasol (LSD song)
    Misfit Love
    Long Slow Goodbye
    I never Came....
    Lost Art of Keeping Secret
    Leg of Lamb
I think I lost my F`ing Headache (From "Over the Years")
    If Only (Top 3 song)
Regular John ( Top 10 song)
    Sky is Fallin

I bought Like Clockwork yesterday. I listened to it once and so far I think it is good.
Lullabies to Paralyze I can't get into, gave it a listen. I love Medication however.
The only albums I do not own and have not heard are the debut self titled and Era Vulgaris.
I like Rated R the most followed by Songs for the Deaf.

Self Titled!! So many good songs; Avon, Regular John, If Only, Mexicola, How To Handle A Rope. It's where it all began and includes Nick Oliveri.

Nick Oliver isn't on the self titled album. His phone message is at the end of I Was a Teenage Handmodel and he's in the band picture, but he didn't actually play on it.

Totally agree that it should be listened to next though. And listened to LOUD

I got into them when Clockwork came out but got into the rest of their albums in spring of last year. Era is my personal favorite.

+1 for Era Vulgaris. A fun album with BIG hooks
“I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version.”

That was definitely my favorite song on the album upon first listen. Just wish I would have had the chance to see them play it live more than once out of five shows I saw on this album cycle (two of those were shorter sets: Jimmy Kimmel Live and Coachella). It's pretty epic live. "Smooth Sailing" rips live and became my 1a favorite song on the album over the course of the tour.

Like Clockwork. Best LP in the last 5 yrs by any band, period.

I love it. But all the people I know who have loved queens from the start, hated clockwork. I personally love when a band actually evolves (like cage the elephant) instead of redoing the same formula.

Is their a reason I NEVER hear a QOTSA song playing on the radio. I listen to rock stations and I hear Pearl Jam. But in past 15 month that I got into this bad not one time have I heard them on radio.

I mean Like Clockwork is a masterpiece and needs to only be played in its entirety so that could be a reason...

good question. philly rock radio stations don't/rarely play them either.

I do remember hearing Feel Good Hit of the Summer,No One Knows and Little Sister a few times but that's about it. Nothing in a long time though which is kinda weird.

I dunno. The main rock station where I am play them regularly... although not with enough variety. They still only stick with the popular singles. I figure any rock station that doesn't play at least a little QOTSA are dropping the ball. Maybe just email your station and ask them to play them more. I've done that in the past, and it totally worked.
