THIS IS BULLS**T

THIS IS PURE EFFING BULLSHIT PEARL JAM!!!!!!!!!!

THIS LAW AND HOW IT AFFECTS US AS FANS HAS NO BEARING ON THE CONCERT ITSELF!!!!!!!

The money can be refunded... But my FIRST TIME having pit tickets and that experience cannot be refunded!!!!!!

I am completely disgusted by this decision and with the Bands viewpoint on this matter!!

I am very very proud to live in my state of North Carolina!!

Politics and music should never mix. Because this is what happens and all the 20k+ people going are affected. Yikes.

COMPLETE HORESHIT. As someone that was going, I'm disappointed but understand. I'M FUCKING FURIOUS that's it's 48 hours away. There are non-refundable flightts, hotels, ticket swaps, etc. AT LEAST HAVE THE BALLS TO DO IT WITH SOME WARNING SO YOU DON'T LEAVE THOUSANDS HIGH AND DRY.

it was a complete douche move by the band that only followed suit because Bruce did it...like someone said they just refused service to pearl jam fans and those that had nothing to do with the bill, but give shit to bakeries and people that don't want to service LGBT community...hypocrites!

im not for that bill, but seriously the hypocrisy in high profile people are astonishing

I think it's too little too late to cancel 48 hours before the show. In my opinion, it will not effect the bill and North Carolina politics. If cancelling actually took away the law then it might be worth it, but that's not the case.

Big shows like this bring boatloads of tourist dollars to the state, especially when several other artists follow suit. This decision doesn't just negatively affect the 20k people who were going to be in attendance, it negatively affects the lawmakers and the people who support them as well.

    This was the right decision.

If they gave further notice, no problem. The venue would've just found another big name to fill that vacant date.

You're supposed to be pissed people.

    That's the point.

Now get off your ass and do something with your anger that repeals this or helps prevent this type of thing in other states.

Sorry for the fans who missed out and any trouble it put you through but you are not the real victims. The real victims are hurt much worse. Try to keep some perspective.

I get why they are doing it but the timing is really hurting their fans more than anything. Just not right, know a lot of people who are getting screwed right now. Hotels and flights are all none refundable, they should have done this a week ago.

I am very very proud to live in my state of North Carolina!!

Not to be a dick but... perhaps statements like this are the very reason they cancelled the show.

I have no horse in the race here, so it is easy for me to stand behind the band and say they made the right decision. I just returned from 3 shows in FL and I know I'd be plenty pissed had I spent money on flights and hotels to see the Raleigh show so I completely understand the anger and disappointment. But as someone else already mentioned, this is exactly the point.

I feel for those affected but this being angry with Pearl Jam is misdirected. The anger should be directed at those in power who made this antiquated law in the first place.

Total fucking bullshit! Rock bands should protest by rocking out, not by cancelling. And I can't help feeling this is pretty fucking hypocritical, what makes this law worse than all the other bullshit they haven't cancelled over?

To be fair. How much could of been progressed if any band had followed PJ's initiative with the ticketmaster thing. I think it's ok if other bands (including PJ) support the move, and follow suit (the more people that do it, the more people it'll piss off, and the more people will demand something better of their government).

The thing is Bruce canceled a week and half ago? It's a crummy way to treat your fans to wait to cancel until 2 days before the show. Especially a band that knows it has a large number of fans that travel.

If I found out on August 18th that Wrigley was cancelled. I'd be livid. We'd be out $1100 just like that.

So now the people that are still going to NC will actually spend more $$ on going out instead of spending it at the show. NC will still get it's taxes of goods and services.

Not sure this move will accomplish much of anything.
