While it sure has been fun watching the 4 Florida shows from my couch, how do y'all feel about people using this technology in the building? Is it just as annoying and distracting as the overzealous camera/cell phone user? Do people keep it down low profile or are they holding it up the whole show? While the past few days have been fun to watch, I wonder how I'll feel about it when I join up with the tour from Lexington to Toronto and see it happening in person. For those who have been to shows, and have seen it, how do you feel about it?

I watched one show the other day, the person held the camera still, didn't scream and yell, and disabled the comments, it was great.

I tried watching one tonight, the person is waving the phone around and it's annoying, especially with the comments predicting the next sing, or saying how hot ed is.

I hate people that hold the phone up above their head for entire songs, if someone wants video or pics, be respectful of those around you.

Yeah, but are they holding it subtly in front of their chest? Or are they holding it above their head where it shines a light in the faces of those behind them....

all about paying to have this professionally done and not by someone holding/mounting/whatever with their phone...I think the band should embrace this and use it to their advantage...I would definitely pay to watch some of these shows that I could not make it to.

And yeah, I like the vids on youtube and everything a lot, but it WOULD be really annoying to have one of these "camera people" in front of me while they're doing it.

I love it. I watched the Tampa and Jax shows almost in their entirety! Amazing

However... I DO NOT want someone holding their phone out/up in front of me. At MSG in 2010, some girl in front of me kept calling someone and holding her phone up in the air (as if that made the (probably awful) sound come through better) with her arm directly in my vision for the 1st 5 songs or so.

So I would gladly pay for a PJ stream of the show.

what i don't get is what kind of idiot pays almost $100 for a ticket and holds a phone up for 3 straight hours? seems utterly ridiculous to me. great moments are passing many people by today as they hold up their phones or tablets to capture moments that are happening RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM!

I agree PJ should offer streaming.

I don't own a submarine so I have no need of a periscope. That being said, mirrors are pretty sweet and optics is fun stuff.

Seriously though, enjoy the show, if you can't be there, get over it and go to the next one!

I love having the option to listen to these streams for shows i cant be at, but i share the sentiment that a lot of others have expressed. I'd be really upset if someone in front of me was holding up a phone for the ENTIRE show. Since the video quality is generally so terrible, i feel like it would make more sense to just stream the audio anyway. I wonder if there is an easy way to do this.

I know for U2, the Periscopers were getting very aggressive, and expecting people on the floor to get out of their way since people at home wanted a closer view, etc. Thankfully, I never encountered this insanity personally.

You can hide the chatter on periscope:

How do I hide chat during a live broadcast?

Both broadcasters and viewers can hide chat during a broadcast by swiping right in iOS or swiping up in Android and tapping ‘Hide Chat.’

You can also enable Cinema mode on the web player by pressing 'h' to toggle the display of hearts, comments, title, and app links for an unobstructed viewing experience.

When you hide chat during a live broadcast, you won’t be able to see any comments, though others will continue to send and see them. Note: all comments will be viewable in replay but you can also hide chat while watching a replay. You can unhide chat at any time by tapping the "Chat Hidden" label in chat bar or "Show Chat" by swiping right on iOS and up on Android.

I think it's cool & a big thanks to all who have been live streaming the shows to Periscope.

Was hoping some would just use http://mixlr.com/ where they don't need to hold their smartphone all day in the air. Can just place their smartphone in front pocket & record.

If only Nugs or SiriusXM Pearl Jam Radio could broadcast LIVE their sets ...

In Tampa the girl next to me had her phone up a lot and at one point I wondered if my singing was reaching her video (or whatever she was doing) then I decided I didn't care that much - sorry.
