Anyone else think the 99 cent downloads should be offered free to 10C members? That was my first reaction, wanted to see what everyone else thought:

no. i dont. they deserve to make money off their music. in todays world even the biggest fans download albums for free instead of paying for them.

to each their own, but i know the costs of putting out a record, and going on tour. and bands dont make as much as you would think. so , no. music is their job, and they should be payed for their job.

Playing Devil's Advocate here, but as a paying member of their fan club it would be a nice perk...not saying the whole album, but a single would be nice. It would make up for the lack of Deep magazines. ;)

However, the You Tube clip was a nice gesture.

a track here and there would be fine. we got WWS free.

and if i remember right, if you bought WWS for .99 from itunes you got unemployable free.

im happy getting shots at tickets, my easter single, and cracks at merch. in the goods section. oh, getting a deep mag. would be nice ;)

Maybe they lost money in the stock market ;)
But seriously, I don't begrudge them for offering their music at a price. Websites cost money, recording engineers cost money, staffing costs money. I can spare a buck to support them. And it IS directly supporting the band, NOT iTunes, plus it's DRM-free like it's should be.

Exactly, are people really bitching about a dollar?
  • what I'm annoyed about is paying for a Stone song now that will be on an upcoming album that I will inevitably buy. That basically makes me pay for a song twice if I want it now...

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Cubs song won't make the next album, so I'm happy to buy it...although if they make a hard copy of it, I will inevitably buy that, and pay for a song several times...

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

exactly. my thoughts today were either A) invest 99cents into the Gold markets or B) buy a fucking song.

Would this be considered a real song, or is it more of a novelty thing? It would be nice if there was a sample available to check out.

I bought an entire John Coltrane album for 99 cents on amazon.com recently. I can't see spending the same amount on a song dedicated to some baseball team.

Honestly I'm not the biggest Cubs fan but it's a very well-written song for what it is. I was impressed. That Vedder guy has some talent ;)

wow. okay. so here's what we can do: How about every time pj gives something aways for free you can send me 99 cents? or how about this: the next time someone gives you a cd, you send 99 cents per song to the artist that made the music? or how about this: the next time you hear a streamed song online, you send 99 cents to the parents of the children that made your jeans.

Look at me, I can over react too!

    Good god.

It is such an injustice that you are FORCED to pay twice.

If only you had a choice!

    Good to know. :)

I'm not upset that the song is up for sale. I have the choice not to buy. For some reason I just assumed it was going to be free. I was surprised when I clicked the link and saw a price.

i really cant believe we as have gotten to the point where paying a buck for a song is even a discussion. remember having to pay 5 or 6 bucks for a c.d. single that you already had the A side to , but you had to have that "rare" B side? WTF???

    its a buck.

    get the song or dont.
