I hate lotteries
Been a member since 01 and this is the 1st time I've been denied tix for a nearby tour. Tried NYC & Boston. I miss 1st come 1st serve hitting refresh 1000 times. At least I knew I had a chance.
Looks like I'll be buying scalped tickets from Stubhub for $400/ea.

How many shows have you seen and why do you feel entitled to tickets to every show you want to go to?
Hopefully you can pull some tix on friday

I do understand some peoples frustrations but when you talk to some of these people they make GA their priority for every choice and get shut out at high demand shows with low success rates and wonder why...people have given some great advice on these forums on how to up your chances for scoring tickets
The # of Ten Clubber's keeps going up (hence why it nuked the website in 2011). If we had F5 now it would be exponentially worse than our memories of it. Ticketmaster gets so much Web traffic they have to create a queue. There's no way a mom and pop (the 10c is run independantly so I consider it mom and pop) can handle it. I think it's a waste of resources spending a crapload of money building out a server architecture that you only need for 1 or 2 days a year. At least TM is always selling tickets and needs it all the time. It warrants spending serious money on an infrastructure that can handle the traffic (or sort of handles the traffic).
In the end It's not a big difference between F5 and Lottery. The 10c get's so many tickets to each show and the exact same amount of 10c'ers get to go regardless of it being F5 or Lottery.
I don't get to go to nearly as many shows as other board members. I never missed a Seattle/Vancouver show via F5. I did miss my first show via Lottery in 2013. I have to imagine with F5 at some point, my luck would of run out. I wouldn't get my order in. The onsale date would end up being a day I couldn't get out of work. It was going to happen.
I feel it's a wash. There's so many fan club members now that lot's of people end up being pissed either way because there's not enough tickets to go around.
