Been a member since 01 and this is the 1st time I've been denied tix for a nearby tour. Tried NYC & Boston. I miss 1st come 1st serve hitting refresh 1000 times. At least I knew I had a chance.

Looks like I'll be buying scalped tickets from Stubhub for $400/ea.

  • So one time you had a bad strategy and didn't get tickets and now you want to quit? Why do you think you won't get them the 'old fashioned' way on friday when they go on sale?
How many shows have you seen and why do you feel entitled to tickets to every show you want to go to?
  • If you've been a member since 2001 and 2016 was your first time not getting tickets then I'd say you've done damn well man lol. MSG and Fenway were/are stupid high in demand. You'll get your tickets
  • Haha, yeah sorry. I have been lucky over the years. Just frustrated with the 'lottery' method since I never have good luck with that.

If not for this Forum I would have no clue that so many people dislike the system. I have (and my three buddies) have literally won every show we have entered. That includes Missoula. I assumed my luck ran out today as they learned they won around noon and I still had aTBD. But at around 9 I learned I won again. I'm at the point that I feel it's my time to lose and am cool with that but will keep trying as it is called a lottery. You can't win if you don't play.

  • These big shows make it hard, because if people travel they want to make sure they have good seats to make it worth the trip. Lottery winners will be covered, but anyone else will have to pay WAY over seat value from the secondary market. Silver lining id that this is an awesome and giving fan base, so in four months time if you stay diligent, tickets will come up at face from fans you will sit or stand next to that are just as hard core as you. People also bought to split or trade pairs, so tickets can be found. I decided to skip this round and wait for a West Coast swing, cause they haven't let me down the last few tours on this coast.

I have yet to be shut out myself and im beyond thankful for that and I know my time is coming when I will and you know what? I will not once complain

I do understand some peoples frustrations but when you talk to some of these people they make GA their priority for every choice and get shut out at high demand shows with low success rates and wonder why...people have given some great advice on these forums on how to up your chances for scoring tickets

F5 gradually got worse with each passing tour, and then the last tour it was used (the 2011 Canadian Tour) the website complete crashed out to the point that no one could access the website for the rest of the day. I didn't mind F5. I'd always book the day off work so I could keep trying until an order went through (which is a bit of a drawback.. burning a Vacation day just to get tickets).

The # of Ten Clubber's keeps going up (hence why it nuked the website in 2011). If we had F5 now it would be exponentially worse than our memories of it. Ticketmaster gets so much Web traffic they have to create a queue. There's no way a mom and pop (the 10c is run independantly so I consider it mom and pop) can handle it. I think it's a waste of resources spending a crapload of money building out a server architecture that you only need for 1 or 2 days a year. At least TM is always selling tickets and needs it all the time. It warrants spending serious money on an infrastructure that can handle the traffic (or sort of handles the traffic).

In the end It's not a big difference between F5 and Lottery. The 10c get's so many tickets to each show and the exact same amount of 10c'ers get to go regardless of it being F5 or Lottery.

I don't get to go to nearly as many shows as other board members. I never missed a Seattle/Vancouver show via F5. I did miss my first show via Lottery in 2013. I have to imagine with F5 at some point, my luck would of run out. I wouldn't get my order in. The onsale date would end up being a day I couldn't get out of work. It was going to happen.

I feel it's a wash. There's so many fan club members now that lot's of people end up being pissed either way because there's not enough tickets to go around.
