I was more successful during F5 times as well. And the frustration only lasted a day. now you think about the darn stuff a whole week Oh well, I hope everyone gets something good.
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!
I would love for the days of first come, first served.
Tough when 10,000 people all try to go through the same door at the same time!
But that was only for a few of the shows when they staggered the sale. I think the band would have been happy to keep the first come, first served method going as evidenced by how many things they tried until they final gave up and went with the lottery.
Under the old method I wouldn't have any problem getting every ticket I wanted for non-NYC/Philly shows and even under the old method I would have a better shot at those shows.
This has been debated to death though and understand why they've gone with the lottery, but I don't think it was necessarily about the demand and giving everyone a fair shot but moreso that they couldn't get the website to work.
I hope somebody does something about this practice because it's becoming impossible to see anybody well known now unless you are uber rich and even if I were uber rich I wouldn't pay those silly prices.
as long as PJ are around $100 each, or less i'll keep buying them. but you're right. if i was an artist i would not the entire crowd to be filthy rich. rich will forever pay no matter what. it's up to the artist in my opinion. there's other ways for an artist to make money other than jacking up ticket prices.

Ah yes, The whole Saturday morning spent on your computer hitting F5. No way you were getting up from your seat, not for anything. Food, fire, natural disasters no matter until you screamed at the top of your lungs "Yes"!! after seeing "Thank You for your purchase".
Anyone else think that maybe going back to the mail order days could alleviate some problems. Send in one card with the shows you want. No fuss, no muss, no odds, nothing except just waiting for a reply back in the mail of your results.
Does anyone know if I can sell a Southwest flight credit from a canceled flight? I have a $127 credit that expires May 11th. I won't be able to use it and would prefer to sell to someone on here for a discount knowing lots of you will be flying. Again, if it's allowed. I can't call Southwest until Monday. I just hope I don't take a loss.
You may be able to book a flight by May 11th and then cancel it before the flight. You get the credit back and that starts a new 12 months. I think this is how it works but not sure.

I just think that the lottery system has encouraged some people to obtain multiple memberships to increase their odds of obtaining seats, which is certainly not a bad thing for the band as it has surely increased revenue. That said, those who enter once face much tougher odds now.
It also sucks for those with long-term seniority. My friend has been in the ten club since 1996, and he got shut out in 2014.

I'm in the same boat as your friend, been a member since 1996 and haven't won a lottery since 2009. It's frustrating and I would never buy another membership to cheat the system. If I win, great. One way or another, I'm going to Philly and/or Toronto.

I agree. It seems a lot of the hard core long time fans are concentrated in certain areas, i.e. Northeastern cities, the Pacific North West, Chicago etc... This relatively new system will inevitably shut out some of these fans unfortunately. Supply and Demand always rules, this really encourages people to commit to less popular further away venues. Which of course is more costly and time consuming for the member. It is what it is I suppose.
I hope somebody does something about this practice because it's becoming impossible to see anybody well known now unless you are uber rich and even if I were uber rich I wouldn't pay those silly prices.

It's not the artists that are jacking up the prices. Some prices are a little high to begin with for the big production shows but the sky high prices happen when scalpers hack the system and buy up blocks of tickets and then jack up the price. People were paying 350.00 for 300 level section Paul McCartney tickets that originally cost 36.00 - 400.00 for a lower level AC/DC ticket that originally cost 140.00 ect. ect. - I saw AC/DC in their prime 5th row floor for 12.50 Now as senior citizens I can't get a decent ticket for under 400.00

I am so disappointed that people would mislead concert goers, I used to work for the ticket vendor in Ottawa. I can't tell you how many people fall for this $909.00 for a ticket? which is no guarantee
You DO know that most of those are speculative...no one has GA tickets right now.
I'm a new member, and while I understand how seniority members feel, as a newbie I want a chance to see them. It's a shame they can't just do all seats as fan club members.
is it a even $157.00 or is there tax on that? $157 just seems like a pretty good deal.
Pretty sure that's the total price that's charged to you. If you're Canadian though, I think those prices are in USD so right now they are actually much higher.

I don't know why I'm surprised, but I can't stand all of the complaining about the lottery system. It's fair, people. There is far more demand for tickets over the last couple of years than there was before that. You aren't going to get 10C tickets to every show that you want. It's not the end of the line, though. You can still get tickets during the public sale!
