it is supposedly THE definitive book on the band, from the sixties up until Live 8. the detail was incredible....at times, mind numbingly so....but tons of good stuff in there. it was pretty cheap on amazon.

The Weeks kick ass. Hung out with them after their show in Boston 2013. Their guitar player gave me his cell number and said if I was ever in MS to give him a ring. Great guys.

Not sure the exact order but it's something like this:

    Pearl Jam
    Neil Young
    Ween
    G Love
    Beastie Boys

Joesph Arthur is also up there. Would need to crunch some numbers to see if he makes to top 5.

I've seen some of your other lists Yefa, you've seen some phenomenal acts live. Guess I should check out Drive-By Truckers, cuz if you've seen them 215 times... they're probably well worth checking out!

Thanks for the kind words JH6056. I very much recommend checking out DBT. They're a great band. They released an excellent 3-CD live album in 2015 called It's Great To Be Alive! which is a good snapshot of their current lineup. Let me know if you'd like some recommendations on songs/albums to check out as well.

Thanks! Maybe I'll just start with "It's Great to be Alive" (see if I know anyone I can borrow it from first before I buy), and take it from there... And of course I'll try to see them live if I can go next time I cross their paths. Cheers!
