I just saw them in Miami saturday, and it was an awesome show!
I'm excited to hear they have a new album coming out in September 2011 called Green Naugahyde.
Anybody else seeing them this tour?
Les Claypool is a monster... just amazing.
And the guitarist and drummer were superb too.

yes! I saw them May 23rd. The show was great.
Enjoyed the new stuff too. I will say that with them only playing 15 songs, it sure made me appreciate pj and their setlists length. But Yes, Larry La Londe and Jay Lane are very good musicians as well. Jay recently came back to the band. He was with Primus before they got signed and started recording.
I want to see Claypool solo now. Always wanted to see him with Primus first, not sure why.PJ: 10/14/00 06/09/03 10/4/09 11/15/13 11/16/13 10/08/14

my cousin went to this show on Saturday down in Miami, too. He was telling me a story about some dude threw a beer up on stage that almost hit Les, right when they were playing a good song - he couldn't remember what song - so after the beer was thrown, Les stopped the song and said something like, "Well, we usually don't play that song, but I guess you do not want to hear it" - any clue what song it was?JonnyPistachio wrote:I just saw them in Miami saturday, and it was an awesome show!

I believe it was Mr. knowitall.
That was fucked up. I believe it might have partially hit him and beer got all over his bass guitar, and he wanted to get it over to the techs to clean it up i'm sure. He made some comment about the guy who threw the beer must have a little dick and said precisely what you heard. They didnt play the song..
I actually wasnt too familiar with most of the songs. its been a long time since I busted out the Primus records.. but the show was sick!Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -
I really want to see them again. I haven't seen them since '97, and it was one of the best concerts I've seen. They've been to town since, in fact they were just here last month I think, but I just never get around to it."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0

I just saw them Memorial Day weekend at an outdoor show in Omaha. Great show in front of a killer dramatic sunset. Though, the setlist was a bit short for my liking. Everyone sounded good!I am fuel, you are friends.0

I have seen them twice, once for Anti-pop and once at Soundwave festival. I love them, Les is incredible and I love his crazy solos. Amazing and funny as hell!

Saw them last year with Gogol Bordello in Brooklyn. Not really my cup of tea, but still had fun. But Les Claypool is an animal! Thoroughly enjoyed watching him do his thing!"Sometimes you find yourself having to put all your faith in no faith."

I, like most, only know Primus because of 'My Name is Mud' and 'South Park.'
I'm seeing them with Tool and wanted to brush up on them so I got a handful of their records from the library and I'm not impressed so far. Green Naugahyde was dreadful and I just started Pork Soda and my hopes aren't high I'll like anything by them. How does a band like this with the 'sounds' (I hesitate to call it music) even survive? Were they all independently wealthy before they even started the band? Who would even buy one of their CDs? That being said, I'm hoping the 'music' translates better live and they put on a a good show.208XXX (September 2000) - 21 Pearl Jam shows, 2 Eddie Vedder shows, 1 Temple Of The Dog show

They are not for everyone, but they are definitely for me. I've seen them somewhere around 15 times and own pretty much everything they have put out.Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"

Primus Sucks, I love them!0

I wouldn't recommend starting with Naugahyde. Not their best record for sure. I'd recommend starting with sailing the seas of cheese! Pork soda is pretty good but sailing and antipop are probably their best! Gotta love the song Wynonas big brown beaver too!!Spartanacus said:I, like most, only know Primus because of 'My Name is Mud' and 'South Park.'
