Reminds me of the days of getting fucked over at Sam Goody's when having to decide over which Guns and Roses "Use Your Illusion" album I was going to buy because they were selling them for $18 fucking dollars each. I can go on Amazon and get a high quality CD version of both Use Your Illusion albums for less then two dollars right now.

I like high end players because they sound better (I use a fiio x3). The thing is high end players use a high quality DAC. Regular (CD Quality) FLAC files sound way better on a pono, x3, x5, sony walkman, (or other high end player) than they would on an android or iphone/ipod. I've listened to a few HQ rips on my portable player and the sound quality is fairly similar to that of a CD Quality Flac File. I'm not a big fan of mp3's, but CD Quality FLAC's seem pretty good to me for portable use. It's not like I have $500 IEM's to go with my $200 player. I've been using Monster Turbine's which seem to work pretty good with the X3. The best part is I have a giant collection of CD's and I've ripped most of them to FLAC over the past 5 or 6 years. Didn't cost me a dime to go digital
Love the Vinyl at home, but I can't see myself repurchasing all my favorite albums in HD Audio formats.Post edited by Zod on0 -

Seems like a lot of effort. Either you have to make the vinyl rip yourself (at real time) or pirate someone else vinyl rip, in which case you could probably pirate the HD version, that won't have all the vinyl imperfections (assuming it came from the same master).buck502000 said:vinyl rips are the answer ------
