  • So the "Silver" edition will be the hot ticket item…

I'm going to cancel my Gold order. There HAS to be 300+ of the gold version.

But! They are donating the money. That must be a lot of coin. That is a good thing.

Doesn't this happen with other artists and they just cancel the excess orders? I think their intentions are good but this is a lousy solution. The print is only worth $250 because it was supposed to be extemely limited. No mass produced poster is worth $250 from the get go.

So I still don't know why the hell they can't say how many were to be sold initially, look at the order numbers, say if it's like 50 then sell the first 50 orders, then the rest refund. That would have been too easy... :i_dunno:
So instead let's not upset anyone, and just sell more. Oh, well. Just probably meant that I shouldn't buy posters anymore.

  • Ames blew this whole Gold variant deal twice now.

I'm giving them till Monday to appease me and the masses with a proper solution or at least a full disclosure of the original print run, actual print run, and gross donation they are making to Vitalogy.

If no new developments I'm cancelling this order with them and they've permanently lost me as a customer.

Has anyone canceled with them in the past? How are they with it?

  • Assuming it was a large run, they could probably charge $50 a poster and still make a nice donation to Vitalogy Foundation.

Interesting, but it doesn't address order cancellations.

Under these current circumstances cancelling an order is entirely reasonable regardless of their posted policy. I paid with VISA as well so there is recourse there if needed. Bottom line is not receiving what was advertised at time of sale.

I'm not upset by what i paid, what the end print run is etc... I like the gold version and went for it first. If I didnt get in in time to get one of the ORIGINAL HANDFUL, and there isnt any other reasonable options for replacement print / partial refund etc... i want my money back.

They handled this so poorly on so many levels and it looks like they simply don't want to entertain the task of processing credits.

What a shit show. I emailed to cancel too. I'll give them a few days to honor the cancellation or I'll file a paypal claim as well.
  • The Gold version was a misrepresentation. Falsely advertised. They changed the title AFTER THE FACT!!!
Of course you can cancel your order.

I was right I guess about it being a shitshow before the drop even happened!

I don't know what to make of the whole thing - I understand they are doing what they think is right, but not disclosing the print run and giving the option to opt out is kinda bad.

Which probably means, a majority of people would opt out if they knew the numbers. And that's a lot of money they lose.

So everyone likes the gold variant one if it's limited to a low number, but if its run is increased and the additional money goes to charity then everyone wants a refund?

    Where am I?

It was advertised as a handful of prints. People - myself included - bought it because of the low print number. It was $250. I'm fine with the money going to a charity, but at least tell us how many of these fuckers are gonna be printed.

On the other hand, I've personally donated a fair amount of money towards the Vitalogy Foundation, and maybe I'd like my extra to go towards something else.

Problem is people paid a premium for a more limited version of the print, if they're going to change the description why I'm not allowed to to change my mind if I don't want the print anymore?

Exactly, no one who bought this would be cool with this outcome.
