If they are just going to put the orders through, and not disclose how many they are going to produce they should give people the option to cancel. Its cool they are giving proceeds to charity, but really, it does not seem like a great compromise. If someone wants to give to charity, they can do that themselves. We don't need to be sold extremely overpriced prints to feel good. PJ collectors are very particular about pressing/printing/production numbers.andyfarrimond said:If they had tried to sell anything for $250 that was effectively not limited then nobody would have purchased them. OK, so some money - and we will never know how much - goes to charity, which is great, but I feel like I have been ripped off unless they actually state the number of golds that were sold at that the number is less than any of the other versions.

As I said, they need to let people know how many were printed and give people the option for a refund. If not, it is fraud.0

Fraud might be a stretch, but I get where you are coming from.dfishberg said:As I said, they need to let people know how many were printed and give people the option for a refund. If not, it is fraud.

It's not right--their error being fixed by gouging customers and then 'solving' issue by forced charitable contribution? Im tempted to file a PayPal chargeback. That's straight up misleading and wrong.think I'll throw these pills away...0

Works out perfect!dfishberg said:I got the same email. They need to tell us how many were ordered and then give people the option to either keep the purchase or refund the money.
You all get to keep your poster.
And you all get to donate to a GREAT CHARITY!
Perfect!
Take me piece by piece.....

So lots of people overpaid for a handful of prints and now they aren't a handful but a ton of prints? They made me donate "involuntarily"?"The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it"

I just did that too, I asked for a refund.fixer123 said:

Is there any chance these have a lower printing number than chrome or the standard? I saw that the delivery time was 3-4 weeks, which leads me to believe they havent been printed yet.Pittsburgh, PA September 28, 2005 || Washington, DC June 22, 2008 || Barstow, VA May 13, 2010 || Seattle, WA August 10, 2018 || Dana Point, CA September 29, 2018 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 28, 2019 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 25, 2021 (EV) || Dana Point, CA October 1, 2021 || Dana Point, CA October 2, 2021 || Chicago, IL August 29, 2024 || Pittsburgh, PA May 16, 2025 || Pittsburgh, PA May 18, 20250

If they are going to mass produce them, then don't charge people to "limited" item price. The premium price. Charge us the same price as the show version that is more mass-produced. Let us decide if we want to give more to charity.arq said:

If you purchased a piece of artwork primarily for it's exclusivity, then you probably shouldn't have purchased it in the first place. Isn't the mindset when purchasing art: "I really like that artwork!".... instead of: "the artwork lacks originality, but it's really limited, so take my $200+" ?
* With that being said, I hope each of you get the outcome you desire.0 -
They should throw in extra show edition for free. This is messed up. I would rather have had them fuck up the orders for the chrome. I liked that one much better. Please let me know about the cancellation process. What a racket. Why were the other editions fine without a glitch. Sold out meant sold out for those. I tried for the chrome first and it was sold out by 7:02 or something. Has anyone asked them what the run is limited to since they just emailed out?Pittsburgh, PA September 28, 2005 || Washington, DC June 22, 2008 || Barstow, VA May 13, 2010 || Seattle, WA August 10, 2018 || Dana Point, CA September 29, 2018 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 28, 2019 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 25, 2021 (EV) || Dana Point, CA October 1, 2021 || Dana Point, CA October 2, 2021 || Chicago, IL August 29, 2024 || Pittsburgh, PA May 16, 2025 || Pittsburgh, PA May 18, 20250

I asked for a refund. I tend to not be overly negative, or so I think, but this doesn't feel right, and how do we know they will actually donate any money? They could sell 500 of these at $250 and then donate $100."Born on third, thinks he got a triple."0

The Email from Ames should have read:
Dear Valued customer:
Due to a technical error on our website, we sold more of the PJ NYC metallic gold poster than planned. The original run was going to be X copies but due to the technical error the run ended up being X. If you would like a full refund due to this error, please email us at X site by X date. If we do not hear from you by X date, your order will be shipped in full and the profits from oversold posters will go directly to the Vitalogy Foundation. After we ship all of the posters, we will let you know how much we have raised for the Vitalogy Foundation. Once again, we apologize for this error.
Thank you.

You should reply to them with that.
Did they even apologize in the original email?Post edited by PSUS2H onPittsburgh, PA September 28, 2005 || Washington, DC June 22, 2008 || Barstow, VA May 13, 2010 || Seattle, WA August 10, 2018 || Dana Point, CA September 29, 2018 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 28, 2019 (EV) || Dana Point, CA September 25, 2021 (EV) || Dana Point, CA October 1, 2021 || Dana Point, CA October 2, 2021 || Chicago, IL August 29, 2024 || Pittsburgh, PA May 16, 2025 || Pittsburgh, PA May 18, 20250
