Pearl Jam, the Flamethrower!
I SAW PEARL JAM0 -
Their job is to sell 10,000 hats... the faster the better... they are a profit driven business, not a commune ensuring everyone gets a fair shareRS65573 said:
Because the shop is open until 8pm and having nothing past 12:30 makes no sense?my2hands said:Why would they liimit hat/shirt sales when they made thousands of them? They want to sell as many as possible, they know they have plenty to sell, it's not their fault morons spend crazy amounts of money on junk that there is plenty of
Their job is to sell merchandise, period. Deal with it folks
Selling out creates hype, which creates demand, which creates sales... rinse and repeat
They know they will be open tmw, and everyone will be in line again... and again... and again... and again... and againPost edited by my2hands on0 -

I'm in it for the music... if I pick up a cool print or sticker along the way, then that's a nice little bonus
It is fascinating to watch grown adults go apeshit over a rock bands stupid merchandise... totally fucking nuts, but I do love the passion... I just wish the passion was for the music, not junk

There's a transformers on eBay that has the number 32139 and a warning to flippers in one of the pictures (wish I could post picture but can't for some reason). I'm not the smartest guy going round but that to me would indicate that there's at least 32,000 of these that's going to float around at some stage. Edit: just saw the hologram thing is a sticker. Like I said, not the smartest.Post edited by scott nowland on0

You mean the guy who was first in line then came in later with a green shirt on trying to fool people? Yeah I saw him too. We must have spoken in line?!?JD274244 said:I was there this morning. They totally screwed it up. People who were waiting in line all morning got stuck at the back of the checkout line because they let everyone in at once. There was no limit on the shirts and hats. There was one person in particular who bought, in my estimation, close to 20 of each color hat and probably close to the same number of shirts. Then was back in line to get more posters/stickers/pins with a different shirt on so they didn't notice. Not putting a limit on the shirts and hats was a mistake. The hats were gone in under 30 minutes. The people who were there early and spent all morning standing in line, in my opinion, should have had the benefit of getting in first and having some time to shop in a controlled manner. The free for all it became made it so there was no benefit to those who were there very early.

What exactly WAS the deal with that line? I waited outside for 30 minutes, and as soon as the line moved up enough that I had 2 feet in the door, we were permitted to browse, yet that line still continued to the cash register. People who were there in groups had one person stay in line while the others browsed, but IF I had actually found something in my size to buy, was I expected to cut back in line at the door, or go back to where my place was, since there wasn't anyone holding my spot?
Why even have the place open until 8pm if all the good stuff is gone by 12. I can only imagine what it's like now. But I'll say it again, the worker at the door told me to COME BACK TOMORROW AT 11AM if I wanted a L sized shirt. I can understand holding back supplies for each DAY so that people who are out of town the other days have a shot, but why would they deny me a shirt at 12:30pm only to put out shirts again for the people who come at 5pm?0 -
The whole situation is a little puzzling. Still... I'm lucky enough to be off work Friday. Kids are all in school. I'm taking the train into the city and am going to enjoy my day with no work and a few hours kid free. It's going to be a beautiful day in NY. If I'm fortunate enough to get my daughter and I a tshirt and 1 poster that'll be a very happy bonus!5/3/92 Omaha, NE

This is just like Wrigley all over again, I have a feeling they are going to limit items a few days after they have let the first few people in line buy 50 of everything they want.Raleigh, NC 8-18-92

The nyc cop shirt is a good Gildian heavy t but the others looked like the standard garb shirts they been pumping out lately that only last a baker's dozen or so washes.
Stop and frisk, James Blake, Eric G, they can keep it.
I left the shop at 12:30 with nada.0 -
Not a fan of any of the posters. The hats are ok
My wife said the apple shirt looks exactly like a Twilight shirt that used to be sold in every Borders bookstore.0 -
I'll also PayPal for a Transformer if any of you have it in your heart...0

If anyone has Men's L shirts, hats, or posters I have some nice stuff to trade. PM me0

I stopped by the store a little after 4:00 today-- no line to get in then (thankfully). Most of the T shirts in "normal" sizes were gone, but still some Smalls, XXL's, etc were hanging around. Hoodies were still available, as were plenty of stickers and pins if people were looking to keep things basic. Also they were selling a baby onesie with the same "Subway" sign logo as the grey t-shirt if anyone was looking to pick up something for a young jammer...Hear My Name, take a good look, this could be the day!0
