  • She's a woman and has the right to choose. And she's choosing no. I applaud her for sticking to her beliefs regardless of what anyone else says.

And please don't sink to the personal level of attacking her appearance. That's just wrong.

Sure, sticking to your guns is admirable...unless your guns are bigots lol

She was elected to perform duties as a representative of the government. If she wanted to stand on a religious soap-box she should have become a member of the clergy. That is, of course, if her sect allows women to hold positions of power.

I'm not sure what her being a woman has to do with anything. This is about allowing ideology to interfere with and infringe upon the rights of others.

    As an elected official, yet.

(Still will never be a fan of that hair, much like the mushroom-headed shooter. Still, you're correct. Words and actions are much more worthy targets.)
  • She's another one that wants to impose her will& beliefs on others glad she's in jail she deserves it don't worry JAG Trump will soon be agreeing with you ....

Just a Girl, regardless of her super sexy appearance ,Fashion week outfit and deliciously stylish bangs. She does indeed have the right to think how she does.I applaud her moxy for standing up for what she believes, wether I think it's ridiculous or not.Its her right and it did take some balls.

The problem is as Hedo said ,she is an elected official who must by law follow the law.She cannot perform her job while being tainted by religious views when making desciscions. Its that pesky Church and State thing.
She clearly is a hypocrite hater who has no clue. But she has a right to her ignorance. The only thing that would make this story better is if while incarcerated they put her in a cell block with butch and her Lesbian friends.Im sure some jail house counseling would be just the ticket to enlightenment.

I think what irritates me is the hypocrisy. I mean, we're all self-conflicted/acted to varying degrees, but most don't affect the life and livelihood of others.

Ah fuck it...it's her self-righteousness as an elected official, it's her screw-you face and attitude, and once again, her hair.

    Right?!
I don't normally judge appearances, but every once in a while the appearance seems like the embodiment of the ugliness inside... and that is true in this case.

But she was in fact imposing her beliefs on the willing deputy clerks by forbidding the issuance of marriage licenses. In effect imposing her personal belief on the county as a whole. THAT is not legal. Nor is it religious liberty. She is not in jail because she believes what she does. She is in jail for defying a lawful judicial order under the Constitution of the United States.

She is absolutely free to believe as she wishes and the Judge said as much. In that he falls in line with her thinking personally. However he is bound by the law as she is.

She was offered the opportunity to avoid jail if she allowed deputy clerks to issue the licenses. She chose to go to jail instead.

I respect her standing for her beliefs. But she isnt above the law.

This coming from someone who said Michelle Obama was a man in another thread.

As far as this whacked out woman, she's an elected official and needs to understand what a separation of church and state is. Religious freedom is for practicing any faith. Not denying others rights.

I just don't understand what her being a woman has to do with it.
Of course she and anyone has a right to these beliefs. She just can't do her job because of her bigotry. So great. She can sit there and be happy about being a bigot behind her shield of religion. But she can't do her job if that's how she feels. Totally her choice.

  • I said I think she is a transgender woman. That wasn't an insult to her appearance. A lot of people think so, not just myself.

For thinking someone has a secret doesn't mean I was insulting their appearance.

    ok, I had to google....

Michelle Obama, First Lady of the United States, was born Michael LaVaughn Robinson in Chicago, Illinois on January 17th, 1964. He was the second son born to Fraser Robinson III, a well known cocaine dealer and union thug for Crime Lord/Mayor Richard J. Daley, and Marian Shields Robinson, a transient street prostitute who was diagnosed with the HIV virus in 1998. He was a popular high school athlete and in 1982, he accepted a scholarship to play middle linebacker for the Oregon State Beavers. After finishing a respectable rookie season with 88 tackles and 7.5 sacks, he suddenly dropped out of the school. Fellow teammates observed that Robinson could regularly be heard lamenting over how he is a “woman trapped inside a man’s body”, and on January 13th, 1983, he underwent sex reassignment surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. To hide the shame of his new identity, Michael left Oregon State to attend Princeton University under his new legal name, “Michelle Robinson”. Years later, he met Barry Obama Jr. a Kenyan immigrant who later became aware of Michelle’s 'true' identity. They subsequently married and adopted two children.”

Funny how she underwent sex reassignment surgery in 83, but still shows a bulge in those pics. Love the internet.

A lot of people think a lot of foolish things, but that doesn't make any of it true, or even less foolish.
Billions of people believe in an invisible man in the sky who speaks to them silently...foolish no matter how many believe.
Evidence. Provide some. PJsoul did and it crushed your little theory.

The GOP big wigs will be coming to her side Rand has already professed his support for and so has Kucinich the rest will fallow ...

I like rand, but could never vote for him because of his ignorance to this issue.

I'm am personally thrilled that she loves her Jesus so much that she is willing to sit in jail because of him. To bad this Jesus character won't pay her bail, or lawyer fees, or her impeachment hearing. Do you think she gets an automatic ticket to heaven now? Such a crusader.

This woman's lawyer is a bigger douche bag than she is. He just compared this woman to Martin Luther King Jr. What a fucktard.

This is a joke, right? One article I read states, "Davis' lawyer, Roger Gannam, said it was the first time in history an American citizen has been jailed for believing that marriage is a union between one man and one woman. He compared her willingness to accept imprisonment to what Martin Luther King Jr. did to advance civil rights."

    The nerve! The irony!
