Same here Speedy. I overpaid for the Milwaukee tickets, but we decided we wanted to be there, so we paid the premium and avoided the chaos today. Can't wait!

...additional plus? The Stones don't make you wait. Under 60 days til Minneapolis and just over 70 days til Milwaukee!

I am VERY CURIOUS as to what you paid for Milwaukee..
    Very curious.
Also very curious as to where you are seated.

Definitely. We are coming from St. Paul that morning, and our plan is to catch our hotel shuttle over mid-afternoon and check out Summerfest. My wife is from Appleton and has been before (she saw Chumbawumba haha), but I've never been. Heard good things. Can't wait for the show.

OK...so now that the sales have happened and hopefully everyone who wanted tickets got them, what non-Warhorse song (e.g. a warhorse being a setlist staple like Brown Sugar, Satisfaction etc) do you most want to see?

Me personally: Loving Cup or Hey Negrita.

Yes, I know that I'm likely to get two shows FULL of warhorses...and that is just fine with me. But hey, a guy can dream right?

My Holy Grail would be Jigsaw Puzzle, but they've never played it (and aren't likely to start now) so it's a little unrealistic. Failing that, I'd love to hear something like Hand Of Fate, Dance Little Sister, Luxury, Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker).

I used to always want to hear Paint It Black, but over the years I've realized it doesn't work very well live. Or at least to me it doesn't. The studio recording just has such a great atmosphere which can't be recreated live.

Agree on "Luxury," especially if Mick does the "woo's" live.

Also agree on "Paint It Black." I saw it in Chicago in 2013 and wasn't floored by it.

I'd still probably go crazy if they played it, but it's one of the few Stones songs that just never sounds very good live to me. Another being It's Only Rock N Roll (But I Like It). I LOVE the studio recording, but the live arrangement is just so boring.

Oh, and I'd love to hear Star Star again. When I heard them play it in '97 I wasn't familiar with the song at all, it was the "Web Choice" song of the night, so thanks to those who voted at home. I was a little confused, felt like I was at a different concert all the sudden. The F-Bombs were let loose and everybody around me singing "I bet you keep your pussy clean", I was like "What fucking song is this? I don't have THIS album!".

I've also never heard them play Monkey Man. I guess I could probably come up with 10 setlists worth of songs I want to hear these dudes play. Catalog's just so damn big/good.

I've been hitting 80s Stones stuff really hard lately. I know a lot of people rag on the guys for most of what they released post-Some Girls, but there's some really good stuff from the 80s if you give it a chance. Emotional Rescue, Undercover and Steel Wheels all have some really great moments (and some low points too). But on the whole, I could assemble a pretty sweet setlist from those three albums alone. When you consider everything that was released up to the 80s, and then give their 80s stuff a really solid listen, the depth of their catalogue becomes all the more impressive. Some great tracks from the 80s:

    "Summer Romance" (ER)
    "Send It To Me" (ER)
    "Where The Boys Go" (ER)
    "Pretty Beat Up" (Undercover)
    "All The Way Down" (Undercover)
    "It Must Be Hell" (Undercover)
    "Undercover Of the Night" (Undercover)
    "She Was Hot" (Undercover)
    "Sad Sad Sad" (SW)
    "Hearts for Sale" (SW)
    "Blinded By Love" (SW)
"Hold On To Your Hat" (SW)

It's obvious that most fans are going to pick a favorite album or song from pre-1980. I think the non-fan public started the whole "they're too old" thing some time in the 80s, and probably based on what their releases from that period did or did not sound like.

Thus, the 80s have sort of become the lost decade for the Stones. For me, I'm truly delving into these songs for the first time (although I had heard some of it before, I never gave it a chance) and still impressed with what I'm hearing.

Going back to this decade of work, despite whatever they did before or after, reveals how good the boys really are.

Almost Hear You Sigh from Steel Wheels is a good tune that brings back some great memories.

Put that one on your list too!

I agree, there are some really great/catchy songs in the 80's that aren't named Start Me Up. I've always really liked the Emotional Rescue album, not really the title track, but songs like She's So Cold, Let Me Go, Summer Romance and Send It To Me. I also like Keith's Wanna Hold You from Undercover, he played it at Texas Motor Speedway in '97 and it was a great live song, even if the lyrics are a bit cheesy. Little T&A is a fun song too.

I can't really do a whole lot with Dirty Work though. I can maybe listen to One Hit (To The Body), but that's it. It doesn't really sound like the Stones, sounds like an 80's band with Mick/Keith singing. Steel Wheels I don't listen to much, I don't hate it, but to me it sounds like a less entertaining version of Voodoo Lounge.

Let's also not forget the greatness of...

Ha. My sentiments exactly. Haven't really revisited Dirty Work much, and perhaps for good reason. And I agree about "Emotional Rescue" the song as well. Never loved it. The falsetto takes a lot away from the song; it's best parts are where Mick is just doing his normal thing.

Ha. My sentiments exactly. Haven't really revisited Dirty Work much, and perhaps for good reason. And I agree about "Emotional Rescue" the song as well. Never loved it. The falsetto takes a lot away from the song; it's best parts are where Mick is just doing his normal thing.

I thought it was kind of cool when they dusted it off during the 50th tour, just for the change of pace, and to hear anything off of Emotional Rescue.

Yeah, really not crazy about those albums from the 80's. Not really crazy of the songs you mentioned. I like Under Cover Of The Night & Too Much Blood from Undercover. The ONLY songs i like from ER are Dance PT.1 and Down In A Hole. Sad Sad is okay but don't like the other songs you listed from SW. Songs i like from that album are :Rock And A Hard Place, Almost Hear You Sigh & Continental Drift.

How did this song end up on ER:

I actually like A Bigger Bang more then those albums from the 80's:

Any word on whether he'll appear sometime on tour? I've read a lot over at iorr that he won't be appearing at all, but I guess I haven't seen anything official. Some people griped about him on tour in 2013, but I thought he was great then too. CYHMK was one of my favorite songs of the night.

I haven't heard much about it to be honest. Prior to tickets going on sale I'd read something about Jagger saying Taylor wasn't going to be touring with them, but he didn't really elaborate on why, or if he might still pop up as a special guest as opposed to a touring guest. I really wish they'd brought him along, as his playing is still great, but some people did find his attempts at developing a stage presence a little off-putting. As far as I'm concerned Mick Taylor can do whatever the hell he wants to, he'll always be a badass in my book, but he probably would have been better off doing his own thing. Standing like a statue and playing amazing guitar. He moves better up and down a fretboard than he does on his feet.

We'll be seeing them in Raleigh. This will be my 3rd and probably final Stones show. Can't wait.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

I never look at Best Buy ads anymore, because I've pretty much stopped going there, but I was bored today and just happened to open it up and see this...

    http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sticky-fingers-t-shirt-wild-single-cd-single-only--best-buy/6113677.p?id=3376593&skuId=6113677

I don't really care about a Wild Horses single, or a $2 coupon off Sticky Fingers as I'm getting the Super Deluxe off Amazon, but that T-Shirt with the alternate cover is pretty cool. For $11.99? I'll go to Best Buy and dodge a bunch of phone salesman to grab one of those.
