Will PJ Be On Letterman Again?

Dave is down to about six weeks remaining. A lot of his guests & musical guests have been announced ahead of time, and no PJ thus far. I wonder why they made it a tradition from No Code through the self-titled album and then all of the sudden stopped. No band performance in 9 years!

I know Eddie was on there for Ukelele Songs, but I wonder why they did the Tonight Show with Conan and Late Night with Fallon but no Dave? I kind of liked it when they were soley loyal to Letterman? Any chance part of the band him after his Letterman's very public admission of adultery? I always thought PJ was up there with Foo Fighters as Dave's favorite musical guests, so it's disappointing for me if they aren't on again.

Jimmy Fallon will hopefully be their go-to late night show from now on. Jimmy's a massive fan for real, and probably a better audience as far as the demographics go assuming PJ wants to reach younger people. Plus the whole show is way more focused on music than any others have ever been.
I seriously doubt the thing with Letterman's cheating has anything to do with it btw. I can't see the band caring one way or the other - not their business.

Hopefully. They have had some awesome performances on Letterman. I'd love to see one more before the end.

I'm having dinner next week with my buddy from the show. I'll see if he has any info. Rumor so far is Bill Murray since he was on the first episode for the last episode.

They aren't listed on the list of confirmed guests right now. http://tvline.com/2015/04/13/david-letterman-final-episodes-guests-late-show-cbs/

Dave is old and tired. He should have been gone 20 years ago.

I would love to see one more PJ Letterman performance. Like many others, I've kind of tuned out Letterman over the last 10 years or so. Not that I think he isn't funny anymore, but I have just not paid much attention in general to late night TV.

I have a ton of respect for Dave and it seems like he is going out on a high note with some great guests, musical and otherwise. One more PJ performance would be special. They really have had some tremendous performances on that show.

Doesn't appear so, unless they get added as part of the "to be announced" guests in the coming weeks. It would be a good way to end Late Show. I expect Foo Fighters to get added, would be crazy if they weren't on once more, really figured they'd be a "final show" musical act.

Thought Fallon's music booker had something to do with the move over there, tie to the band or what no.

Dave in his prime was great, but he seems to have given up the last 20 years. Just my opinion.

it's funny you say that, as I prefer his style now to his style back then. I saw some clips of when he was on the late late show, and I found his on-air personality to be so overtly "YUK YUK YUK I'M A FUNNY GUY" type, I couldn't stand it. I prefer his sarcastic, reserved, interviewer-rather-than-comedian approach.

Yes, I thought when he started at CBS in 93 he had gotten so cheesy and more formatted, the past few years he has almost not cared and it suits him so much better. I also love that he uses his show for being outspoken on common sense issues, making fun of George W on a nightly basis for years, etc... I do wish he would bring back Will it Float though. Been too many years.

I'm personally glad he's retiring. I've got nothing against him... but it's enough already.

Yeah, he wrote the PJ20 book. What a cool life that dude must have!!

I was surprised to not see PJ/Ed on that list, but who knows! Not a huge fan of Letterman, but he's always seemed to like PJ, and good music in general.

Yeah he left the Tonight Show a couple months back, so maybe that'll bring Pearl Jam back to Letterman one last time.
