Trouble with 2005 Bootlegs
Hi,
I'd really like to get into the '05 shows - those setlists just look too good. Trouble is, I can't download them from gremmie's basement without there being 2 seconds of silence at the end of each track, and I can't download them form pearljambootlegs.org without each track skipping. Does anyone know where I can download these shows as MP3's and have them play properly? I know the shows are out there and I don't want to be demanding - I'd just like to hear them the way they're supposed to be heard.
Thanks so much!

Here's the program I downloaded and it's free ---> http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Just wanted to say..nice job for helping another jammer out :-)
2005 Bootlegs are only available in mp3 192 kbps low quality, unfortunately.. even if you have the original versions downloaded from Basecamp, you will have annoying gaps between tracks if you burn them as they are.. But there's a not so difficult solution to create audio cd's from mp3 files with absolutely no audible gaps between songs.. You need: Foobar 2000 and EAC (other programs can be used, but these are the best to me)..
1 - merge all the mp3's in one big wav file with foobar 200 (use the convert function to do that)
2 - open this wav file with the wav editor of EAC, and remove all the silence between tracks (silence is that straight line that you will notice between the end and start of every track, be sure to remove it COMPLETELY), at the same time you must put the markers (cue points) in the same points where you remove the silence
3 - now you can burn the disc using the cue file you have previously created, or split the wav file using the cue file and then burn all the tracks normally
Result guaranteed, 100% no fucking gaps no more
on a side note, I hate mp3's, the 2005 boots and many EV solo concert are practically the only ones I have (for obvious reasons).. Flac's sound better and you just have to convert them to wav to create a perfect audio Cd
A boxset for the 2005 boots in Cd quality would be super great (actually, a 2007 one, too, while we're waiting for the 2011 and 2012 boxsets)
Above directions may not be exact, I'm going off of memory.
Other players should have similar options
DEGENERATE FUK

"THERE ARE NO CLIQUES, ONLY THOSE WHO DON'T JOIN THE FUN" - Empty circa 2015
"Kfsbho&$thncds" - F Me In the Brain - circa 2015
This can't work well, because silence has to be removed manually.. the option you say here is the same when you tell your burner to not add a two seconds gap between tracks: an audible gap, even if very short, will always remain..
Yep! It was only available via MP3 from Basecamp. The following year in '06, they released that tour in MP3 & Flac formats.
Someday they will reissue the '05 tour in our it's all it's glory! Flac, CD, 24 Bit Flac-HD & 24 Bit Alac-HD.
Someday ...
Been so long since these were DL'd and loaded on iTunes (obviously 2005

I hope Nugs.net are able to take the cases of audio goodies from Pearl Jam & release the '05 tour to the heavens ...

It's one of the reasons audiophiles prefer to have them in FLAC. FLAC (or even SHN back in the day) doesn't replicate this problem. The downside is that mp3 was the only format the 2005 tour was available in (except for the gorge show).
You can manually edit out that bit of silence at the end of each track but it's a bit of pain :(
Does anyone have a link to the re-worked 2005 bootlegs with the gaps removed? This is a task I need to tackle very soon if no one has an updated (gap-less) set of shows available for download.
Please get at me if you know where I can find these shows "sans gaps."
Thanks a lot.

Would like to check it out.

Those links that I was hosting on the site were actually borrowed from here (http://rus-pearljam.blogspot.com/p/free-bootlegs.html) so you can download the 2005 shows from there and give them the old college try to see if they'll burn gapless. I'm not sure if they will though. I assume they're the exact same MP3s that I linked to earlier in the thread (http://www.pearljambootlegarchive.com/2005.html) but it's worth a try I guess.
