if Pearl Jam were to co-headline a tour, which band would you like to see?

at first the idea sounds crazy, but the way that Trent Reznor explains it in an interview he did with Josh Homme about the tour that NIN and QOTSA were co-headlining it made much more sense, so watch the interview and either say it is a stupid idea or it is a cool idea and which band you want to see

my first choice would be Soundgarden even though wouldn't be able to do both shows for a whole tour, second choice would be Bruce Springsteen, third choice would be Neil Young

oh absolutely, that would be awesome, everyone who saw the Tool/Soundgarden tour was very stoked, I was thinking each band would play like 25 songs so it would be a little over 4 hours, plus I think it would be fun for the band to share the bill, take them back to 1991-93 before they became the headliner and they got to hang out with other bands like Soundgarden and Red Hot Chili Peppers, plus I think that two bands that are really good would inspire each other and the Tour would get more and more epic each show, because they would be feeding off of each other

I saw the qotsa and nin tour in australia earlier this year. Was awesome. If pearl jam were ever to co headline I would think soudgarden would be good for a temple of the dog reunion each night.

I absolutely can't stand QOTSA. It would probably have to be with X again but in the states this time.

That'd be my pick as well

    Tom Petty
I missed the shows they opened for him several years back and would be stoked to see them do more.

A less obvious choice, building on some recent overlaps, would be Jack White. Imagine the occasional shared stage song collabos :-O \m/ ::insert face-melted dueling-guitar emoticon here::

    MMJ and PJ.

    THIS would be something else!

Wouldn't complain about aforementioned QOTSA, either!

I would be happy about any of the following:

MMJ, Petty, U2, Soundgarden, NIN, QOTSA, Neil Young/Crazyhorse

Otherwise, not too many other bands I would be okay with taking 10-12 songs from a PJ set.

I want Fugazi. QOTSA would be amazing also. I actually like the idea if it was with another band I love.

You guys aren't alone. QOTSA and Gaslight Anthem both hugely popular within the PJ community and I just don't get it.

The obvious answer for me would be PJ & The Who.

Same genre of music or does it matter?

    Uuuhhhmmm, how about:

    Black Crowes
    The White Buffalo
    Tool
    Rage Against the Machine
    Tedeschi Trucks Band
    Gov't Mule
    ABBA

Just to name a few. Soundgarden would be great but you have to give Matt a break. Drumming for two bands each show will wear him out.

In Canada, the only other band that I've seen where the fans are so fervant about, is The Hip. That would be some kickass tour. I would travel across the country to follow that tour.

PJ and Bruce. But you would have to start the show at 4PM. It would be a long ass day of partying.
I love Queens, but they are not in the same league really. A 15 song set from Queens followed by a full PJ set would be great. Start that at 7PM, off at 8:15, PJ on by 8:45 at the latest.

I would say Rhcp or Soundgarden... That would be my ideal show...
The Who also and I saw Tom Petty mentioned and that would be awesome...

Give me Roger Waters and PJ sharing a bill. Both absolutely are amazing live and I think the two would make for a such an experience and evening of music. Plus Waters might inspire them which could lead to the next great PJ album.

And as a joke how about Smashing Pumpkins and PJ?

I would have rather seen PJ and Petty separate. PJ only played about 1 hr 20 min when they opened in St Paul. Petty was great but I was there more for PJ. There would be so much bitching if PJ coheadlined a bunch again because the shows would be so much shorter.

How about Mumford and Sons with PJ? That would be an awesome clash of styles. It would be great to get a whole new generation in the building to see how PJ tears down a place.

I could be down with the idea but I dont like not getting "Maximum PJ" if I am only going to catch a few shows on the tour. ;)

    Would like:
    Black Keys
    Arctic Monkeys
    Jack White (whichever project)
The obvious ones (SG, NY, Who, Plant/Page) that would make my head explode would line up in front of those others most likely.

  • I agree with many choices listed already (MMJ, Neil, QOTSA) but wanted to mention one that hasn't been yet...Widespread Panic. Interesting blend of crowds. Not sure if Panic played Bonnarroo the year PJ did or not but probably seperate nights if they did. Would love to see these two in one night.
