Maybe the REAL question should be-When did pearl jam fans get so lame?
Edit-or selfish? Or greedy? Or shameless?0 -
PAPPNASE...Sorry about that... I will try to spell it correctly. it is my new favorite word!!!!Leezestarr313 said:

You know how I know we're old? Someone posted SASE in another thread without explanation and no one asked what the hell that means. THATs how I know I'm old.
I'm 36, and I don't feel old. Now get out of my pit, you kane-swinging wrinkle-lituses
My youth does not mean that I am not a grammar nazi though. I love that words from my native language have made it into regular lingo on here. But I feel the urge to say it...
It is PAPPNASE, not Pappanase. Pappnase literally means a nose made of cardboard/ pappmache, it is what clowns are wearing. That was your little German lesson of the day.

You know, when we were driving out of the show in StP, my wife and I noticed that there were a LOT of small SUVs and minivans leaving...when I first saw PJ in '92 at Lolla, there were a lot of beat up old cars...the crowd is changing, right along with the band. I love that the same band that I connected to so passionately as an 18/19 year old, I can STILL connect to passionately as a 40 year old. That is awesome. Bottom line.
My friends who were into the hair rock and rap/hip hop crap in the early 90's are hoping to see their favorites on "where are they now" or "celebrity weight loss" shows. I get to see Pearl Jam.
We win.

The average age at most shows I attend now has risen steadily over the years except for Death Cab For Cutie shows where I am one of the older people there! We tend the stick with what we grew up with. Even though my son is bombarded with the music I like every day, he'll probably eventually love what is popular and I'll think it's crap.0

I've been a fan for 22 years, but I was only 1 years old when I started, so I'm not old like all you creeps.
Oh, and.........

Just another pre coffee comment, even though the ticket prices are comparatively affordable, they're still $160 paid in full months in advance. That's like half of 18-year old me's weekly paycheck. I think we forget that a lot of "us" (one of us, one of us) who are in 30s40s, with minivans and kids and dropping coin on $8 beers inside have a certain level of privilege that most younger PJ fans won't/don't have.

Sure, but us 30/40 year olds also remember what that was like when the band was rampaging across the globe in those early days and even $20 + a ticket, plus gas, food and t-shirt back then was a lot of $ for a 16 year old working part time at $4.75 an hour.ldent42 said:Just another pre coffee comment, even though the ticket prices are comparatively affordable, they're still $160 paid in full months in advance.
