Getting lost in CAMDEN again

The best way to go after learning the hard way is.
On the way out that main block you come down on....just make the first possible left. That block will let you make a left towards philly or take it straight up to 70east cherry hill NJ, what I did.

How do you get lost in camden? There's a huge line with hundreds of cars all going in the same direction, escorted by police that have one hand on a flashlight and another on the gun so that you can safely get out of town.
PS. for all the people complaining about the trash in the parking lots, look at it this way. When you throw a can on the ground, you're donating 5 cents to the Camden residents who come in afterwards with big black trash bags in order to collect on the deposit. Stuff White People Like
#62 Knowing what’s best for poor people
February 10, 2008 by clander
White people spend a lot of time of worrying about poor people. It takes up a pretty significant portion of their day.
They feel guilty and sad that poor people shop at Wal*Mart instead of Whole Foods, that they vote Republican instead of Democratic, that they go to Community College/get a job instead of studying art at a University.
It is a poorly guarded secret that, deep down, white people believe if given money and education that all poor people would be EXACTLY like them. In fact, the only reason that poor people make the choices they do is because they have not been given the means to make the right choices and care about the right things.
A great way to make white people feel good is to tell them about situations where poor people changed how they were doing things because they were given the ‘whiter’ option. “Back in my old town, people used to shop at Wal*Mart and then this non-profit organization came in and set up a special farmers co-op so that we could buy more local produce, and within two weeks the Wal*Mart shut down and we elected our first Democratic representative in 40 years.” White people will first ask which non-profit and are they hiring? After that, they will be filled with euphoria and will invite you to more parties to tell this story to their friends, so that they can feel great.
But it is ESSENTIAL that you reassert that poor people do not make decisions based on free will. That news could crush white people and their hope for the future.Do you remember Rock & Roll Radio?0 -

once you are over the bridge the police basically direct you
heres a tip
if you get directed to the multi level parking garage, go up two levels and then head for the exit instead of continuing up. We parked one turn away from the exit and were out in no time. Also, we bolted as soon as yellow ledbetter started up on Thurs and were well clear of the traffic. No problems other than the lack of direction arriving at the venue.0 -
walking back to the tram on thursday there were too crackheads asking for money. after being ignored the followed us and screamed "fuck you" for a while. who knows what someone will do when the have nothing to lose. i dont know if they had a knife or worse. friday was my 5th and final PJ show in that hole.0

NJ does not do deposits on cans, and Penn doesn't either, so they have to somehow get to a state that will give them money back...-Mike

Yeah, I was at the Camden I show. We got lucky. We had GPS... we were in Camden maybe just a strip of the way. There was some dude running up and down the street trying to sell t-shirts and a couple hot dog vendors.... dirty houses to say the least. Its amazing though that not that far away from Camden are very nice towns of Jersey. Im from Upsstate NY and when we found that gas was cheaper (and they were full serve) and we discovered Wawah we were in heaven! I recommend a Wawah stop for everyone, killer subs!
Hehe, it's Wawa. No "H" but the "H" sure gave me a giggle!! Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed our Wawa stores and hoagies (we don't call em subs in these parts). I have friends that moved out of the area and always talk about how they miss Wawa.
And...as far as all of you Jersey bashers go...yes, we know Camden is horrible. But, weren't you ever taught - if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.
Peace out from a proud Jersey Girl..."Oh dear dad, can you see me now? I am myself, like you somehow."

I would venture to say that most of the people who get lost are coming from the south and getting off at Exit 4 from 676, then parking in the lots in the city of Camden. Those lots are scattered around different buildings, and have multiple roads around them, but only one road leads back to Exit 4 to get back onto 676. It's hard to figure out which road that is at night, AND in order to get there you've gotta go through a rough part of town.
I've been going to shows in Camden for 8 years, and there's one simple solution to not getting lost: Park in the lots by the river.
A) - They're nicer.- When the show's over, there's a freakin' parade of cars that will lead you home through a relatively decent part of town

I spent a week in Hoboken, New Jersey about 5 years ago, thought it was a really nice place (I'm from the UK). I take it Camden's nothing like Hoboken?!0

Hell no. Hoboken is paradise compared to Camden.0 -

No thats ok. Keep it. Everyone has armpits, but not everyone has a tumor growing off of theirs. Thats NY's forever!! Have fun with that.0 -

II havent traveled to NY or Jersey, Im planning a trip to NY next year, so maybe Ill go to Camden just to see how it is. just corious0 -
Camden is, without a doubt, the worst place I've ever been...even moreso than Tijuana!!! The parking lot was literally AT THE DUMP! Took us an hour and a half to get out of Camden. It was horrible. But the show was totally worth it...just wonder why they play that godforsaken place!
The second night was a bit better, but it took us more than an hour to get out of our PARKING SPOT...and 2 hours to get back to Philly! :eek:This is the greatest band in the world -- Ben Harper0
