There's soooo many versions of French toast out there for you to try. Have had some crazy types, NYC has Norma's, it's expensive but fucken real good. They had a cap n crunch French toast a few years back. But that's like going all out. Plenty of mom and pops places have killer French toast. Shit, u can even make it for yourself. Tons of recipes all over internet. Get your lazy ass up and make some right now. Haha

I would definitely make it rather than buy it.... but i have no eggs, no milk or cream, no appropriate bread, no syrup, no powdered sugar.... and if I want to make a Monte Cristo, no ham. ) This is going to have to wait until I go grocery shopping!

You know, I have tried many kinds as there are so many makers of maple syrup here. Surprisingly I want to give a shout out to the brand - Old Tyme.
Having a family this syrup is truly tasty and economical to experience the Maple Flavour.

Wouldn't know what is actually sold in the States (but you could turn to Vermont maple syrup too). But you can buy a lot of them online. A couple of excellent Canadian brands are Jakeman's and Fulton's. But really, as long as you stick to the light or amber and avoid the dark, and it's real maple syrup, it's going to be pretty good. Dark is too strong and thick and should only be used for cooking. Even the President's Choice brand of real maple syrup is good. But if you're a maple syrup snob stick with the smaller family farm brands in Quebec. Most of them do sell online if their syrup is up to snuff.

Agree that toaster strudel is better. As for flavor, Strawberry for both.
