Just decided to check out the OTHER MUSIC section on here and love to see that there is a GASLIGHT ANTHEM section. I love this band and love the new album. Can't wait until I can actually own it tomorrow. Also gonna see them Oct. 16 in Chicago, just a few days before I see Pearl Jam in Milwaukee on Oct. 20. Octobers gonna rock!

I'll be at the Chicago show too...then seeing PJ in Moline the next night and then Milwaukee on Monday. It's going to be a great weekend of music...can't wait.
I'm jealous about the Moline show, I'm sure you'll have a great time.

This album is soooo damn good. I have been a fan for a while and like all their albums but I think this might be the best overall. Man, trying to rank GA albums is almost as hard as PJ albums. Not many bands have this many solid albums out. Incredible band and not sure why they are not a LOT bigger than they are.

I totally agree. I'm a huge fan and love all their albums. I'll never understand why they aren't more popular.

I've wondered the same thing too for a while. But of course it's harder these days. To me The '59 Sound is a classic. I don't know why that album wasn't a mega hit.

I do think though there are certain songs on this album that could possibly get huge (1000 Years, Get Hurt, Helter Skeleton and Ain't That a Shame). I can see any of those becoming major radio hits if all broke right. That being said that kind if scares me a little (see: Use Somebody).

I don't want this band to turn into Kings of Leon.

The way the music scene is nowadays, no new bands will ever be as big as PJ, Oasis, etc. everyone listens to their own preferences and the mainstream radio has died down big time. Mostly all of the best live bands aren't even plaed on the radio. You have to go to XM or just stream some albums online.

If you talk to people who actually follow rock and music, everyone knows Gaslight. It's just that the everyday Joe isn't catching on to as many bands anymore because it's not a big deal if the new Gaslight album is beat over your head on your local station. People are coming to the concerts anyway... They have their base and hopefully it keeps spreading.

I mean look at Phish and MMJ. Zero radio play yet they have fan bases the size of PJ's.

Yeah that's a good point. I definitely don't want them to turn into KOL. But I would like them to become a little more popular. I think they could pull off a good arena show. Obviously not on PJ's level, but I think that will come in time. The Holmdel show in September will be their biggest show to date, right? That's a start in the right direction.

I agree. Yes Holmdel will be the biggest non festival show they've had. Non of the other tour stops come close. Very interested in seeing how they pull it off. I'm pretty pumped.

I've only seen them with seats once at Radio City and it was a little weird. The plus is though I'll finally actually get to see them play great expectations instead of getting bounced around all over the place.

How big is this Holmdel place that they are playing?

The Aragon in Chicago where they are playing will be the biggest place that they have played here....about 4-5K people. Can't wait for that show!

Holmdel is pretty big in total people. It's like Camden I believe and almost same set up but I dnt think there's a small pit like in Camden. Been a while since I've been there. Yup, I remember now, no pit, all seats last time I was there.

One of the most underrated shows I've seen. Sequential first set, Growin' Up, Hunger Strike and the best Porch of all time.

Yeah, I had no idea it was a sequential set becuase I was a PJ virgin, but I have listened to that bootleg atleast 500 times by now. I would love to get that set again.

Glad they are playing The Mann. To put it in perspective Phish and QOTSA just played there the last month or two and Dr. Dog is playing the night after Gaslight.
