Yet another example of how violence has permeated the American psyche through media. "Friends"? Sad.

2-year-old Wisconsin girl stabbed 19 times; friends arrested

They thought they had something to prove to someone they found on a ghoulish website, police say. So, two girls allegedly lured a third girl into a wooded area in Waukesha, Wisconsin, over the weekend and stabbed her 19 times, according to authorities.

The suspects allegedly left the victim to crawl to her own rescue. The three girls, all 12 years old, were friends, according to a criminal complaint.

A bicyclist found the wounded girl alive Saturday, lying on a sidewalk in Waukesha, Police Chief Russell Jack said. She was in stable condition at a hospital Monday.

The girls were trying to impress a certain "Slenderman," the complaint read. One of the girls encountered the name on a website known as Creepypasta Wiki.

    i'm sure stuff like this happened 40 years ago, technology just wasn't what it is today so people didn't hear about it. we take it for granted that if we have a question about something we can look it up in a few seconds rather than going to a library. in my opinion, nothing has really changed, we just have the opportunity to hear about shit like this courtesy of technology.

    and i'm not sure what guns have to do with this girl getting stabbed.
    if you think what I believe is stupid, bizarre, ridiculous or outrageous.....it's ok, I think I had a brain tumor when I wrote that.

    I just can't understand how delusional these girls were. I had my fair share of fuckups at that age but knew right from wrong.

    And if guns are a part of that violence, so are knives, fists, ballbearings, and on.

    I hope this thread doesn't sidetrack into yet another discussion about guns (we've got enough!) but maybe one of how some young souls have been raised - or not - to become this fucked up.

    I haven't looked yet, but just in case I can't find anything doesn't mean it didn't exist. all across America, in your smallest towns, people have the internet. online newspapers or whatever, it goes worldwide in seconds. I just don't think there is any way possible that every crime ever committed, has been uploaded to the internet. my point is, you're talking about a period in time where crimes weren't posted nationwide, it was just for the people in the area. so unless somebody went through all the old newspapers, the old court proceedings, old radio broadcasts of each individual town and uploaded it to the internet, how can we possibly know that shit like this didn't happen?

    Not blaming guns or media specifically it's the combination of all along with of course parenting. Hard to find a "blockbuster" movie with witty dialog, most are filled with non-stop violence. We are so desensitized to violence. We are all products of our environment and compare ours to other western countries. Shoot em up baby. It's a factor.

    nope i'm saying kids have progressed to get more evil as yrs go by like some one said they are a by product of our violent society , we glorify war , weapons , killing , fighting ... Why is there no Video games glorifying Peace we as a society have gotten worse that can't be denied ....

    @jose, yeah I know man, you didn't see stuff like this in your news because your news covered a small fraction of the news covered today. any place in the world that is online, can put out news in seconds. your old school news no doubt covered your local news more than anything else. and there are plenty examples just in those two links of 80's and 70's child killers.
