buying a preorder for $30 and trading it same day for $200 10 year old LP is fliping, plan and simple

Just curious? How is it not flipping that all these people on the boards are "trading" an item that just got sold?
I would at least wait til I received the album...
Oh well.
I get your point, it is a bit different though, but just a bit. Why buy an item that you don't want? It makes it so that others that acually do want the item can't buy it because it is sold out.
It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me.
Lots of these will be available... If people will calm down a little the prices and trades people are asking for will go down over time.... Now in the long term like 5 years... Who knows what these will be worth, but now I think prices will hover around $125. Remember that Newbury cranks out a bunch of different colored 'limited' edition vinyls. So I could see them pressing more of these on other colors.

Has Newbury done this with PJ before? I don't see this being a common, repetitive thing. Prices may even out, but the market is already setting the price at over $200! Think about how many more than 2,000 people want these!
And with Newbury's limit of 5, I'll bet a total of less than 1,400 people total purchased copies when they first went up! I mean, they sold-out in LESS THAN AN HOUR!!!
These will be Foil Stamped numbered out of 2,000, something Sevens can't say for itself!

Obvious seller/trader. A little pre-sale marketing and hype?

I don't think so, he brings up good points. I'm not a trader or seller, but I do think there is something special about this release. That's just my opinion as a long time collector. The first thing I thought when I saw these was that I'd rather get one sooner than later because it's a true collector's piece and once they end up in the hands of collectors, people will want to hang on to them and they'll be harder to come by. Much like the colored fixers.
More power to those who scored. If I cared enough to buy and people were offering $200 I would do it in a second. Always makes me laugh how people don't realize they will get one for half the price if they just wait a little.

The problem is, that's not always the case.
The price on this one will come down after the initial frenzy. A few months from now some people will realized that they already have multiple copies of Ten and that this version it is just sitting on their shelf collecting dust. They will decide to sell to get some cash. Just like with the white BS.

Maybe, but this one is way cooler than a white bs.

Because you have already seen it in person?
Right, I forgot everything has to be qualified around here. I meant it SOUNDS way cooler.

What makes it such a collector's piece? Because it's numbered? Foil stamped? The color of the wax? Please..... Most limited items sell for A LOT right after it sells out and the fact is that no one knows which "collector's piece" will skyrocket in price or be a dud.
Let's just be honest here; most people who say this will go up in value scored one and most people who say this will go down in value did not score one. Geez people just admit you are human and human nature makes us feel better when we have something others want in this material world e.g., a 30-room mansion, a Ferrari, Lombardi trophy, some limited vinyl....you don't need any of those things to survive but you can't deny this is about our animal instinct that tells us "I live for me, not you!" Only LOVE can overcome this animal instinct (like a true friend scoring a limited vinyl and giving or selling at cost to their friend... or a father selflessly pushing his kid out of the path of a bus and getting killed by the bus to save the kid) (end of rant)
