See I view that as a problem in itself, it's just more authoritarian government under the guise of law enforcement. Couldn't one of the tens of other branches of law enforcement handle that? The USPS is so special that they demand their own???

So for you, the problem is more authoritarian government under the guise of law enforcement?

Any suggestions on what we can do about it?

i remember all of the outrage when reagan, bush 1 and bush 2 tried to do anything at all with their administration.

wait, i don't because there was no fucking outrage....

why was none of this an issue when reagan and bush 1 and 2 president?

if it were one of those 3 i am sure there would have been no problem.

what better way to take the guns of hardworking americans than by using the USPS as spies and have them armed to be the frontline for weapons confiscation.

I remember when National Park rangers became armed. Many people were upset about that but not so much because they viewed it as "more authoritarian government under the guise of law enforcement" but more as an indicator that people/society had become more dangerous and violent. Sorry to say but none of this surprises me.

Are you sure it's more authoritarian government? It's been around an awfully long time. It sounds like you're advocating for more centralized government by having other law enforcement agencies do what they do. Maybe it's better to have the usps deal specifically with mail related crimes.

That is the entire point of the postal inspection dept. I know many who work in the USPS. I don't know anything about this article (why would I?) but it has to do with mail related crimes and nothing more. It's not really new news. They've been doing it for a while, and mail workers are watched as well.

Are you suggesting that a PG-13 rating for a RoboCop movie isn't a serious issue? Have you not seen RoboCop 3? That's right, you haven't. No one has seen RoboCop 3. It was rated PG-13. And apparently he could fly for some reason.

Sorry bud, I don't believe it. Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the country, therefore gun crime doesn't exist there.

there was NO OUTRAGE but there was plenty of indignation and embarrassment. obama is an amateur at press control compared to those old fellas. they slipped the patriot act past us with almost zero dissent and now obama takes the heat when the NSA gets caught doing what isn't even illegal according to the PA. good theater is what it is

Obama did support the patriot act. Well, after first not supporting it.

    Good theatre indeed!
