    apparently some people think it's good luck to eat that on New Year's day. I think it's to get the worst meal of the year out of the way. ew.

    I know what you mean, we made it twice within a month last March-April and haven't had it since. Now, pulled pork slow-cooked in a crock pot all day - that we have had many times. yum.

    My wife made a blackeyed pea recipe 2 weeks ago.
    Peas, peppers, spices, ham, in a slow cooker for 6 hours.
    Good Stuff!

    I LOVE hoppin john! I had the best recipe for it years ago and lost it. :x Been trying to duplicate it ever since without success.
