With all 25 shows of the U.S. Lightning Bolt fall tour in the books, which would you consider best? Select your top five shows and rank them in this thread. I'll tabulate a winner using a weighted scoring system similar to the MVP award in baseball . . . five points for first place, four for second on down to one point for a fifth-place vote.
In casting your votes, you may consider strength of setlist, energy level of crowd/band, presence of rarities, acoustics of venue, dream encores or other subjective or "soft" factors you consider important.

I was at Charlotteseville and Seattle. Based on my experience, what I've read, and what I heard from others that went to other shows, I would say Charlottesville is my number one. Two through five would include Philly 2, Phoenix, San Diego, and Worcester (forget which one, but the one with the epic crowd performance of Alive).Columbus (3-31-92), (5-6-10)
Cleveland (7-29-92)
VA Beach (8-3-00), (6-17-08)
DC (7-1-03), (6-22-08)

I concur. Mike NAILED every lead guitar part at the Charlottesville show, and that setlist was chock full of Mike showcases. Playing the Alive solo while walking through the crowd was epic.08.06.2000 • Greensboro

Hartford is getting way over rated. It's a common CT inferiority complex phenomenon. The crowd was awesome. But of the set lists and band performance, i would put it 6th of the 6 show run I went to from Wor 2 through Hartford.
Bklyn 1 is getting overlooked. Musically speaking it was the best by far (and just for direct comparison, Chloe/Crown was better here than Hartford, especially in terms of Ed's performance - I felt you could close your eyes and hear Andy. He really channeled him here) of the shows I went to, and I'd say the MVP (whatever that means in terms of art). Again, only speaking of shows I went to bc I can't speak to what ididnt see first hand.
Wor 2 is another one of the shorter sets that is getting some love, but not as much as it should.
No comments necessary on Bk 2 and the Philly shows, as they seem to be getting some love here.
Again, all the shows were incredible, so this is like picking your favorite child. You really cant go wrong other than actually trying to pick one over another. If you want to say crowd MVP - Hartford would be a great choice. But, top show? I'd ignore the vocal minority here and look elsewhere.Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0 -

Of the ones I didn't go to, it does seem SD is near the top for a variety of reasons. Thats the boot of the shows I didn't go to that I'm looking most forward to (it's also the place I'm traveling to next tour if I get the chance to. Certainly seems that's most consistently like a home town show for them rather than Seattle. I guess it's the Ed/Matt factor).Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0
