I think this thread is a great idea but I would prefer to vote once all of the bootlegs have been released. Hopefully the hype around this won't die down too much by then.0

On paper Charlottesville wins easily IMO but id hafta hear it. Sometimes a great setlist = a sloppy show. So who knows.0

I won't debate band performance until I hear all the boots, but no one here can deny Hartford's fan club like love fest between the band and the crowd.
I've been seeing this band since 1994 and Hartford 2013 is on the same epic crowd synergy, sing every lyric , bounce in unison, faithful fest that was attributed to the legendary two Boston 2006 shows...
And I am giving Hartford props despite being a Boston Pjammer.

Bklyn 1 is getting overlooked. Musically speaking it was the best by far (and just for direct comparison, Chloe/Crown was better here than Hartford, especially in terms of Ed's performance - I felt you could close your eyes and hear Andy. He really channeled him here) of the shows I went to, and I'd say the MVP (whatever that means in terms of art). Again, only speaking of shows I went to bc I can't speak to what ididnt see first hand.
Wor 2 is another one of the shorter sets that is getting some love, but not as much as it should.
No comments necessary on Bk 2 and the Philly shows, as they seem to be getting some love here.
Again, all the shows were incredible, so this is like picking your favorite child. You really cant go wrong other than actually trying to pick one over another. If you want to say crowd MVP - Hartford would be a great choice. But, top show? I'd ignore the vocal minority here and look elsewhere.
Not debating your assessment or analysis.
I am just picky when it comes to Chloe / Crown performances and if I am correct , Ed screwed up an entire section of Crown and had to regroup before continuing?
Double check my homework but I'm hyper focused on senseless details like this?"This here's a REQUEST!"

I think the vast majority of shows this tour were superb; picking just one would be really tough. I mean were there any duds?I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

Gonna follow this closely as I ordered the box set and this will be waiting until the spring to get any shows. But I do have 4 download codes so I am going to use them. One will definitely go to Hartford, one of the best shows I've been to. Another to Charlottesville, just an amazing setlist, not at that show. I guess another to Oakland since they played ad changed the lyrics to untitled for me. So I guess number 4 will go to the so called MVP0

I will vouch for Charlottesville, as will anyone who attended. The JPJ Arena seemed perfectly suited to soaring leads by Mike, and the setlist truly was great for diehards, both for its deep cuts and relative lack of greatest hits.
Reviews of crowd energy are mixed, but I can say that the floor and the 100-level were rocking hard.08.06.2000 • Greensboro

I don't do homework on concerts. And I'm not as hung up on shit like that. If he missed a lyric, so be it. Music is meant to be felt and heard. If it struck you different, that's fine.Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0 -
of the ones I attended:
1. Portland
2. Spokane (although 1 & 2 might as well be a tie)
3. SeattleI LOVE MUSIC.

Of the ones I didn't go to, it does seem SD is near the top for a variety of reasons. Thats the boot of the shows I didn't go to that I'm looking most forward to (it's also the place I'm traveling to next tour if I get the chance to. Certainly seems that's most consistently like a home town show for them rather than Seattle. I guess it's the Ed/Matt factor).
this show is really a gem.."...Dimitri...He talks to me...'.."The Ghost of Greece..".
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”0 -

You will NOT be disappointed! I am one of the folks who thought the crowd overall sucked for the 1st 3rd of the show, as awesome as the setlist was, but something happened after that 1st 3rd... by the end of it, the entire crowd was amazing, and there was a lot of magic in between!
The great news is, there were a lot of "extra super special" shows on this tour. But I can attest, C'ville was one if not THE "extra-est, super-est, special-est" shows of the tour.
Really, just based on setlists and reactions here from those in the house at other shows, the only shows in the true running for overall most amazing are San Diego, Brooklyn 2, Spokane, Hartford, and Phoenix. The regular level of jubilation that follows most great PJ shows just got bumped to some otherworldly level for those shows. You could actually tell from the posts, and no offense to those who have only seen a few shows, but you know something special happened when people who've been seeing them since '93 or '95 and seen them all over the country are having cows about the energy and magic in the room. Everyone's opinion counts, but in determining MVP, I weight the "been to a million shows" opinions more.0 -
All the more reason it's time for a "touring band 2013" DVD.
I know they don't really care but they are lagging waaaay behind SINCE the IMAGINE DVD chronicled a portion of the 2006 tour yes ?"This here's a REQUEST!"

So funny you say that and put it that way. I hVe a friend from high school, (graduated in 92) was her first PJ show. When I saw the set list, I thought shed definitely be blown away. Instead she was pissed due to the lack of greatest hits0 -
For me, Philly 2 is the definite MVP. It was my 6th show and I went with my sister (her 5th show), my mom (her 1st show) and my best friend (her 2nd show). I had introduced all of them to PJ and turned them into fans, so it was nice to get to go to a show with all of them. Plus, the setlist was perfect (Breath into SOLAT, Satan's Bed, Worldwide Suicide, etc). I thought it was also the best crowd from all the shows I went to. The energy was insane.
A close runner up is Brooklyn 2 because of Rats.

2017: Rock N Roll Hall of Fame Induction
2018: Krakow, Chicago 1, Chicago 2, Boston 1, Boston 20 -

Now you know why more bands hesitate to put this stuff out. That's not the way you're meant to enjoy a concert.
I listen to plenty of boots. E.g. I listen to State College, and it's a mess. But, would I ever doubt the experience folks convey about it? Not for a second.
Homework for concerts.

Btw, I do wonder if this is part of the reason AV hasn't been released. You concert homework folks trashing the shows bc of some technical errors rather than feeling the experience.Sorry. The world doesn't work the way you tell it to.0
