sorry to break the bad news, but if you ordered the special edition book, you won't be getting it before christmas.
i spoke w/ someone @ ames today & he said the books were held up in customs & that they expected them to ship "over the christmas break."
i did not as about the regular edition...so i don't know if those are also being held up.
he did say the special edition book "is incredible."
ps - i told him that i'd gotten my 06 poster collection framed & asked if they would be interested in seeing pics. he said "absolutely! send 'em in!""harvey lees, harvey lees - get out of my f*ing face"0 -
'he did say the special edition book "is incredible."'
of course he did, he fucking works there...0 -
i knew when i posted the message that there would be a spewing of vitriol and bile.
thanks for keeping my faith in mankind going, bob."harvey lees, harvey lees - get out of my f*ing face"0 -
sent in my Poster a week ago, looks like the band and 10c are speechless and words can not describe how awesome my poster is. They should come out and just tell everyone that the bar has been raised!!0

anyone who possibly thinks the price for either of these books is too *much*...really isn't into art books. i don't think i've ever spent under $50 for a hardcover art book, i've even spent MORE for a softcover book at times! such books are pricey by nature, simply b/c of their production costs. $50 is a GREAt deal...and even the limited edition.....32 extra pages......mylar overlays....debossed slipcase...pricey, pricey, pricey to produce! add in the signatures and limited run, tis a great deal. that said, i don't need all those *extras* as tempting as they all sound...so the $50 version is simply perfect for me.
edit - obviously, those extras ARE too temptiing for me, i caved and bought the SE verison.eh well, i am sure to love it!
Right on! Welcome to the club!

Book arrived today. I'd like to thank DHL and the USPS for taking a great item and destroying it. Upper left corner where the binding is is crushed and broken, spliting it from the book. The book is still readable, but it sure won't look good on the bookcase. I hate to bug 10C about this though, first time I've EVER had anything damaged coming from them, but the first time using DHL. Can you post some pics?0 -
I emailed them and already got a quick response. Going to replace it after I send mine back. Thanks 10C!
And regarding pics. I don't want to ruin the surprise for others, but it is a great looking book just from the quick once through I gave it. Everyone should be more than satisfied with this!!"Fuck the talkin', let's start rocking." - E.V. 9-5-00

At every Pearl Jam show, a crowd gathers around the merchandise stand with a collective eye on one thing: The poster. The unique, one-of-500 show poster designed by the legendary Ames Bros.
At some point, the harried clerk turns and takes the display poster down. That means that's it. No more.
And every time, a groan passes over the crowd like a rogue wave, washing half of the fans back to their seats.
"They do?" Coby Schultz asked the other day.
"Really?" Barry Ament followed.
Forgive them. Ament and Schultz — the Ames Bros. — are never at the shows to see the way their work is received by some and coveted by most. They're too busy creating posters for the next run of Pearl Jam shows, putting an image to the cities, the sets and the times we're living in.
They really expect us to believe that they have no idea what goes on at the merch booths? i got one of my books today
( i ordered a special edition and a reg edition ) so i am guessing the one i received is the reg edition ?
coincidentally enough, theres no packing slip enclosed with the book from the 10C .
the front cover is the wash dc 2003 poster, and im pretty sure its kinda embroidered ( it has a nice textured surface ) , nice job .For the ones who had a notion, a notion deep inside
That it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive
