    How's things

    Shit
Glenn? Have you got that PF ticket sorted yet????

    Nope.

sam might as well try and sell his, there is a guy on the PF board looking for a ticket, but sam could make a tidy profit if he puts it on Ebay.

yeah, i might buy sams off him, put it on Ebay and make a killing.

but no i might actually buy it, the wife might come, or i'm sure i can find someone to go with me, if i don't manage to swap.

but i' rather give sam time to get rid of it so he doesn't get stuck with it. but yeah i would buy it if he did.

you should sell yours on ebay
then with the money you get from yours, you should be able to buy a new one.

yeah that's an option, but knowing my luck i'd sell mine, and get out bid on every sunday ticket and then miss out all together.

or i'd buy a sunday ticket 1st, then sell my monday, but only be able to sell mine for half of what i had to pay for the sunday ticket.

 OMG....I hope you're not gonna be doing that for your kids, when you have them (bad)

Scott was sitting next to my helping me....but he had no idea and it was due the next day and I've typed/proofread about 300 business plans of my dad's so thought I'd just do it for him to help him out.

I don't think I'll do my kids' assignments for them.....but I may assist them in ideas and research and shit....but they've still got to do it. Is that bad? Assisting in any way? Or is it better to just let them do it all themselves with no help whatsoever?

    Ummmm?? I don't know....I'm not an expert.
Me personally....I make my kids do the whole thing themselves. I'm happy to have a look when they've finished and give advice....but that's as far as it goes.....I'd rather them think for themselves and I mean think.......whatever marks they get, should be for THEIR effort/work....not mine.......and knowing what most kids are like - as soon as ya do the tiniest little bit.....befor e ya know it, you're practiacally doing all of their homework for them and they're not really learning anything. They get this work for a reason - to learn the work and to learn to work. When they get into the big world, nobody's going to do it for them. Kids are lazy when allowed to be - give an inch and they'll take a mile

    It's just my way though....doesn't mean it's right :)

I've got no idea what I'll do to be honest. I can totally see what you're saying though. I don't want them to rely on my help....but that could happen very easily and quickly....and that's bad!

What about homework? Do you check it and see if it's right and if it isn't right, teach them what they got wrong and make them fix it? Or do you leave that to teachers?

Yeah I do check it.....but....if I see mistakes I don't tell them what the actual mistakes are....I just tell them to go back over it and double check everything....they usually pick up any mistakes themselves and if not I leave it up to the teachers. If there are still mistakes that they haven't picked up, they obviously need more work on it at school and if the teachers aren't aware of it....it doesn't happen.

It's amazing how many kids parents 'help' them with their homework and the teachers think these kids have learnt enough on everything put to them....these kids get to high school, dumb as buckets and just crumble. Unfortunately once in highschool, it's usually too late and these kids just fall through the cracks :(
