Dont the courts decide that, if they can have visits??
Only goes to court if the parents can't make up their own minds.

    wrong....

It's 50/50... you are one of the reasons the laws are currently being changed. You are blind... the laws used to be blind... as i said they are evolving for better access for the male who was seen as the lesser party in the situation previously. This idea is archaic.

I hazard a guess you are female...
    yes i am female.

I hazard a guess you are male

    This is so sad.... :(

if the mum & dad cant agree then the court does still decide atm. they offer mediation and relationship councilling to try & come to an agreement. You have to go in with an open mind. so many people forget that they loved one another enough to create the children they are fighting over at one point in their past, so why should you hate each other so much now. Like two kids in a playground fighting over the same toy...

when i spil with my ex, I offered. the court agreed. He's never taken it up. But ive never badmothed him to the boys. Im a strong believer that behaviour just comes back to bite you in the future. Kids have to confident they came from a good place, not a mistake you made.

    no i'm female...

anyway... everyone was saying oh how it must have been a nasty man to do this... just giving you a possible cause of the scenario...

Nasty men sometimes only happen when they lose their heads and do not know what they are doing.... Maybe the guy was just a nut without any sinister underbelly... (this was not an opening for a topic of convo's about Underbelly!) heh

A couple we know....when they had their bub, after a few weeks she told him she didn't want anything to do with him or the baby anymore and took off (she was a junky). He raised their little girl, by himself, for the next couple of years.....then he met and fell in love with my best friend and 6 months later when she moved in with him and his daughter, his X suddenly turns up and says she wants the daughter back ......and the friggen courts allowed it  they then spent ages battling in court over access etc; and when he was finally granted every 2nd weekend etc;......to spite him (and mainly my friend) she moved interstate with their little girl  To see his daughter, he had to fly to Victoria to pick her up, pay for her to fly back to Perth with him and then pay for the flights to take her back to Vic again. It was totally fucked!!
It always amazed me how he managed to keep as civil as he did. He never bad mouthed the mother to his daughter. The mother told all sorts of BS about him to the daughter........now that little girl is in her late teens and has figured it all out for herself and now that she's old enough, is moving back to Perth.

I know of so many F'd up situations that are due to the courts decission. Like Lindy said.....it's really sad that a couple who were once in love enough to make these little miracles, can't be adult enough (even for their childrens sakes) to come to a fair arrangemnet :(

people do forget, yea - kids arnt stupid, they hear, they learn, they add things up. Do you want them to respect you, or hate you for lying to them??

that one would have been hard, and is a perfect example of how the court system is very very unfair towards fathers. Its ironic, im actually a big supporter of them having better rights, and my own kids father wont even bother to ask how they are if i happen to see him.

Yep...I hear ya....my Dad was the same.....had nothing to do with us (in every way - never saw him, never heard from him, no child support - NOTHING)I was 6 when him and my Mum split........until......on my 18th birthday, I was working as an apprentice hairdresser and I get called out to do a request haircut - I was so excited someone had requested me (only being an apprentice)......I got out into the salon and who was it.....my Dad

Well the DVD is the uncut version apparently so I'm guessing there's just more nudity and sex. I remember seeing a flash of the detective guy's willy once when he was in the shower with his girlfriend, so you never know.
