    I thought last year was their chance to really rival some big name festivals. They fell pretty flat IMO but hopefully this year they get their shit together.

    How do you measure if a festival rivals another? I had a great time at Firefly 2013. I rate the festival on my experience and based on that I think they were a top-tier festival.

    For the past 2 years, there have been 4 stages. 2 stages play at once, then swap to the other 2. But not all bands get the same amount of time, so its mixed up in the morning, and then once the 'bigger' bands get on they get to a standard schedule. Usually 1 set ends and the other begins within a minute or 2 on the other stage. Almost impossible to catch the last song of one set and then be able to walk to the other stage for the start of the next one because of the distance. I never had a conflict where i wanted to see 2 bands playing at the same time. (Now that I say that I think I jinxed it? :lol: ) But I did have to miss the last 2 songs of Cake to get a good spot for Modest Mouse, etc.

    I mean in terms of drawing people. I think this has the potential to turn itself into the premier East Coast festival because it's got a great location being close to the beach and everyone in the Northeast part of the country. I know tons of people from the Philly area hit it and a bunch of out of towners.

    I wasn't a big fan of the distance you had to trek from stage to stage because you had to dip out of one set early if you wanted to see the start of the other. But they could have done better this past year, I wasn't there so I'm not sure. If the lineup is solid like the first year then count me in again.

    Ah, ok. Yeah i met a ton of people from all over. There wer alot more people the 2nd year compared tot he first. And they did add a cut-through from the Lawn stage to the Firefly stage, so that helped.

    Was online til 2 am with site problems unable to score a ticket. :fp:
    Woke up at 10 am and had more problems entering my middle initial on my credit card. :fp:
    Called the support line and they did the transaction over the phone. :thumbup:

    It was a giant clustef*** with many people being charged 6+ times for Super RV camping, etc and maxing out their credit cards.. But there were plenty of tickets on sale into the late evening.


    It's gonna be a crazy June for me. Bonnaroo and Firefly back to back weekends. :mrgreen: And since the lineups are usually similar, Im taking a big risk that I will enjoy them both twice. :? Should be good. ;)
