2013 Coachella AP by EMEK...
Matte Detail:
The top matte is a deep purple linen.
Second level is a gold "fillet" or "slip" and the bottom matte is called Bermuda Mist!!
I got #97 of 100
I love the singing fish doodle and the "scale" look of the frame too!!
I also received a matching handbill with this poster & check out what my framer did with this one.
Love the different colored "bubbles" she cut in the matte!!
The handbill is floating on top of a silver fillet inside the frame.
The bottom matte is black linen!!
Dropped off my Pittsburgh '13 - Munk One when I picked this one up...Should have that beauty back soon!!
:ugeek:
Another amazing framing job, Dave! I really love what they did with the handbill. Those bubbles are so creative and unique!
Can you see if your framer will open up a shop here?
I have about 30 more posters still to do, so I have a lot of business to give them!

@jlaustin no, got it framed at "Art of Framing" in Laurel, Maryland... I thought I lost my 10C ticket but I just found it and now have to bring it back to the framers to get it put in

Yeah the framer is doing great. I was just going to go with the black frame on all of them with a double mat, but after seeing what he did on that Pittsburgh poster I might have him surprise me when I get to some of my favorites like the Donkey Kong or the Pj20 posters.0 -

I have to stop looking into this thread. All your stuff looks amazing
 :fp:
I love the way that Buffalo poster looks with the brown and the golden (?) matting :thumbub: We decided against that poster because we thought it looked kinda boring. But that framing improves it a ton!
We thought about getting ourselves a mat cutter because we cannot really afford to have our posters framed by a frame shop (how do you all pay your rent?
). They do sell pretty nice mats at Hobby lobby and the like, and I have cut mats before back in Germany (my dad has such a machine too...). Can anybody maybe give an insight where to get these super stylish mats that are for example orange in the middle and black on the outside? I guess curved cutting is not possible with a regular cutter, I love especially the ones in here with the curved corners ... But i think I have even seen a device for that in a craft store
Keep on framing, guys! It's a painfully wonderful thing to behold

I thought about getting a mat cutter myself but then i realised that i only have space for 10-15 posters so i decided to find a frame shop to do the job for me. They gave me samples of mats and i give them the dimension to cut it. I buy frames from IKEA and that way my posters cost me about 35 euro each. If you have enough of posters to frame then go for it but for my case didn't worth it. Just try to get a quality mat cutter cause i read reviews of cheap ones that didn't work the way they should. For the super stylish mats, find a a good frame shop and ask if they have colored core mats, i'm sure it's gonna be way cheaper to by it from them and cut it your self. I'll upload photos of my posters later this evening to take a look.Leezestarr313 wrote:I have to stop looking into this thread. All your stuff looks amazing

 We don't have an Ikea that close, but we usually are able to get frames for not that much money... You can get a mat cutter slightly cheaper if it's already used, or with a coupon 8-) We'll see. Thanks for the tip to ask the framing store for the mat, didn't even think about that!
And good stuff up there ^^ I like the photos in the second pic too

Picked up Cracker Jack for my daughter's room over the weekend. I'm saving it for a Christmas present, but I'll try to post a picture of it here if I can get one on the sly.
It looks great. The poster is floated on some white matting inside a nice textured red lacquer frame. First one I've floated, and it won't be the last.I SAW PEARL JAM0 -
I have been meaning to post pictures of this here for a month now.
this is the only poster i own that is not from a show I attended ( I just really love the poster), it is also the only poster i have professionally framed (plan on getting some more done though). this thing was beastly in size before framing lol
sorry for my horrendous camera skills, the re-sizing made it even worse

Hello,
A question for those of you who have purchased an Ikea frame - which model/style do you typically go with for the typical 18" x 24" poster?
Thank you for your help. Have a nice week.0 -
