Four-way tie for me - Bright Eyes, My Morning Jacket, M. Ward and the three united in Monsters of Folk.

Bright Eyes/Conor are such a gift to music. Such amazing songwriting and emotion pouring out of it.
LOVE me some Conor, that's for sure. Hoping for something new from him soon (and not that Desaparcidos shit).
  • my second favourite band is a tie with subdivisions :) it*s between oasis & jack white/the white stripes/dead weather/ the raconteurs (basically any amalgamation involving jack white)

Propagandhi and PJ, top bands for me. My life wouldn't be the same without those two.

Had the pleasure of photographing Propagandhi over here earlier in the year. Really nice guys, bloody great show too!

Finally some Toad love! If there's anybody that writes lyrics on the same poetic level (if not better than) Vedder, it's Glen Phillips.

Glen Phillips is an incredible and underrated musican/singer.

If you have not already bought the New album called New Constellations, I would highly recommend it.

Golden Age is freakin' incredible song.

QOTSA, Masters Of Reality, R.E.M. , Faith No More, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Mark Lanegan, Arctic Monkeys, Tom Waits, Sonic Youth, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Clutch, Black Crowes, White Stripes, Beirut, Tindersticks, The Hold Steady, Mudhoney, Soundgarden, Gomez, Grinderman, Radiohead.... all part of the reason I don't really have a favourite band as such anymore. PJ haven't put out a really great album for me since Riot Act although they blow me away live. Mark Lanegan's Blues Funeral and QOTSA's Like Clockwork are probably in my top 3 albums from the past 10 years. A lot of these bands of those still recording are brilliantly staying fresh by reinventing themselves after a long time in the industry and that's what makes music exciting for me. I still love PJ but they stopped surprising me 10 years ago. I think QOTSA have possibly edged ahead in my listening stakes. I listened to Like Clockwork almost solid since it's release and after a week or so of listening to Lightning Bolt I returned to QOTSA. I got very excited by the emergence of The Gaslight Anthem but all of a sudden they started sounding like they were remaking the same album and now I can barely listen to them.
