My Amazon order now says release date is October 29th. Now I don't really care either way about the colored vinyl but with a week before shipment I would venture that all of these early pre-orders will be purple and like MOV said the black ones will be available later. We will see.

whats up with this free "media mail" shipping on "sound stage direct"? maybe i'll just spend the $9 on priority....
If you can't wait a few extra days, sure. Either way, they pack stuff the same, very well.
I don't know, I'd save the $9 and wait it out.
Soundstage is located in PA. & I live in Louisville. So, for me, its a no-brainer. I always use that free option. From the day it ships, it usually arrives 2-3 days later. Not long at all and definitely not worth the xtra $9. But I could understand if you lived cross-country.
Weird. I didn't see any blind people or drunk monkeys in that video
is it just my eyes...but that when the vinyl is press it falls off and seems be warped? not sure of the process but it did look odd. prob the angle of the camera.
Hamilton 9-13-05; Toronto 5-9-06, Toronto 8-21-09, Toronto 9-12-11, Hamilton 9-15-11....

i noticed that "music on vinyl" has "VS" in their store...
is this the same pressing as the official Pearl Jam reissue? i get the impression that MOV selects certain albums for release, so i when i saw VS, i was not sure exactly what their business model was, perhaps they are just a store, and not a manufacturer?

They made VS & Vitalogy as single records at the re-issue.

So i imagine those are the ones i have.. cause i have the single records... were the box sets made elsewhere? Are they double LP's?
The thing is, I rather have one single vinyl record than two... easier to listen too... So i sort of want the original release insetad because of that. My guess is, thiw will not sound all that much better.

I have the original, if I'm honest it's not the best sounding record I own - not as good as the other MOV reissues I have.

It does come off warped because the vinyl is still warm and plyable. Usually it falls on a spindle where following records will rest on top of it, keeping them all flat.

That's not true.
the maximum "space" on one side is around 27 mins. To divide it over 2, 3 or 4 discs you "spread" the music which gives you better sound quality.
I also hate it to swap a record every two or three songs but it sounds better.

I have an original pressing as well and I thought it sounded pretty good. I can't remember which pressing it is. Actually I think it's a Brazilian pressing.
I'm still buying this new pressing though... Can't resist a colored repress

No, but that pressing equipment is pretty antiquated vs. the MOV equipment.
Also, in the MOV video, it seems like more humans are involved with the manufacturing process for QC.
damn.. i should have went with "media mail", oh well, i only buy a few records a year.
