I agree with this 100%. I love my country but I deplore how apathetic and lazy we've become. At Wawwwwwwwwlmart the other day I saw a bus hauling in people from the outter parks of the lot. WTF.

Furthermore, I believe our culture & way of life has become so plush that we are creating ailments & conditions that are greatly exaggerated versions of just feeling bad (ie depression & other "ailments" when people are just feeling something due to a situation). I could go on but fear being flamed to death.

I think it's a sad commentary that this country has become so polarized that we discredit & blatantly disregard news sources that are "from the other side." This goes both ways, by the way. We're Americans; we have a lot more common interests & goals, than say the Israelis & the Palestinians.

Right or wrong, correct or incorrect no longer matter and everyone's concerned more about their "team" winning (or appearing to win). Rhetoric & sound bites matter. It's pathetic.

I'm considering voting anti-incumbant in every race next election (with exceptions made for thsoe I feel are doing a good job). This is the most corrupt Congress in history.

I was being serious. I watch Lost. I don't know the contestants on American Idol or as I call it American Karaoke. I still can't believe the populace is dumb enough to watch karaoke on tv. If I want to see bad singers, I'll go to McGillan's on Wednesdays and Saturdays for karaoke night, but I digress.

Yes yes, I believe you. The only reason why I know who he is now is because his face was plastered across the Comcast home page when I clicked to check my email for my Storytellers confirmation. I don't understand why people would watch that show. I don't watch Lost either.

I can't get tied into any type of cliffhanger show because I have kids and never know when I'll be able to watch TV and when I won't. My wife and I are bad parents because we spoil our children. They can't put themselves to sleep at night. Either she, or I have to lay down with them everynight until they fall asleep.
    It gets worse.
Both sleep in the same bed. One is 5 and the other is 3 and I'm in the middle. I usually fall asleep with them by 8. I'll wake back up at 11 or 12 and then won't get back to sleep until 2 or 3. That is when I'll watch TV or come here. My kids wake up in the morning when I get up...5AM. It's a crazy life that will only get harder when our 3rd is born this summer. That is why I drink so much coffee.

and so closes the small window into my home life.

the way i see it is that the left is so desperate that they have been leeching onto anyone willing to carry their torch. they spin EVERY single issue. the sad thing is, is that most americans cant think for themselves. they rely on the news and those that are smug to form their opinions. somehow i managed to survive the liberal propaganda throughout college despite the fact that the majority of my professors swung that way. thankfully i opted out of my PA politics class and substituted it for something more fullfilling (us military history taught by a right-winger, as it should be).

ever since ohio went our way, democrats have been begging for scraps to satisfy the empytiness in their stomachs after their belittling defeat. all talk. no game.

i used to watch CNN religiously until it started being consumed with partisian bitching. msnbc is a joke, they are only good for some of the documentaries they have on during the weekends. i get a kick out of bill o'reilly, though fox news also sucks.

ill stick to my foreign affairs magazine or the economist.
