I don't like it very much at all, very hum-drum, boring album, IMHO. I do love Pendulum though. They can't all be gems and rhinestones, still have live shows to look forward to.

Too early to say as its new, but can definitely say its so much better than Backspacer, Avocado and Binaural (cough! I like Riot Act) but I can't say if it will beat the first 5 in the long run. Of course at the moment its ranked no.1 spot.
This is difficult as tomorrow this may change but this is my top 10 today. I only listened to Lightning Bolt for the first time today as I'm still waiting for the CD from 10c and couldn't wait any
longer and downloaded the Flac.

I already posted here but wanted to update. Lightning Bolt has now taken over Avocado for me. These songs are growing on me more and more. I can't wait to catch them live.

all of these albums are great. pearl jam has definitely evolved over the years (naturally!).
I think the songs are very good on lightning bolt but the compression, especially the drums, really bothers me. the compression doesn't affect my ranking - but it would be good if they went in a different direction next time with the production/mastering.

Its very hard to rank PJ albums because I love them all, each one brings me back to a certain time in my life.
But as you can see I love Lightning Bolt a lot.
I had a bottle of wine last night with my headphones on and gave LB a 3rd full listen... and it's growing more and more on me. I don't get how some of you guys HATE it?? I can't rank it yet until I hear some of it live soon. All of the haters should get a nice buzz going and give it another loud full listen. It's pretty damn good.
Dead last...After my first listen there were two songs that i thought were any good. I'd say after a week I like about 5 songs. Some of the rest are just bad in my opinion. I never had this feeling after a PJ album, ever. The whole 'let's rhyme the last word of every line' gimmick is boring.
And sadly, one of my favorite things about album tours is trying to hear all the new songs live. This time I don't care if i don't hear a single song from Lightning Bolt.
At the minute Lightning Bolt is above Avocado and Backspacer for me.

I really like avocado as a whole, but there arent any epic anthems on there like Parting Ways, Grievance, or Nothing As it Seems.. especially Nothing as it Seems - that song alone makes Binaural ranked higher than anything since in my book.
Can't rank them by numbers, only by tiers but will say LB is dead last for me and not even close to what would be #9 (Riot Act). It's way too mellow (still can't believe Sleeping By Myself is on there) and has much too much piano and keyboard stuff. I think Backspacer is a much better album.

I know that I love Vs., ST, and LB. The rest I can jumble up at any given time and enjoy immensely. However, I'm skipping through half of Backspacer.
Top four, huh? That's some praise - and the highest ranking yet.

The first three do and then Sirens slows it down before the tempo rises again.
Sleeping By Myself shouldn't be on the album either. It's like Halfway There on King Animal - it's a solo track by the singer that shouldn't be on the band's album.
I would replace it with Of The Earth. I also think Ole could have been held back and put on the album instead of Let The Records Play - which is another that doesn't fit.

Complete opposite for me. I like Backspacer but its always seemed more like an EP to me. For me, it just loses flow after Just Breathe.
