    what absolute nonsense.

Certain users here seem to have an axe to grind or want to resemble one of those little dolls with green crazy hair ......they were on the train at the start of Toy Story 3.
    Agreed.

Not sure why i'm even bothering posting in this thread to the trolls trying to get a rise out of fans, but I am. Again with the Ed's voice nonsense?
    1. His voice sounds fantastic...on the record and he sounded great at Wrigley.
    2. Everyones voice changes with age. Nobody sounds the same as they did 15+ years ago...especially a vocalist!
    3. To the OP - you've obviously never been involved in a recording process. Its not auto tune. Period. As others have stated, its called using effects. Which, by the way, is used on almost every studio album...I don't know...EVER! I guess I cant say 100% since I wasnt involved in the making of any PJ albums, but I'm sure the vocal tones have been tweaked on every record (including Ten :o )
    4. Lightning Bolt is good. 8-)

It's actually just an opinion. Some may have the opinion there are more than 2-3 "decent" songs on every album since Yield. :o

I really can't believe the negativity of some people!!

Ed has had a gorgeous voice his whole career and one of the reasons he has been such a beautiful vocalist is that he has usually been able to sing very much in tune. Give him a break here!! I don't really believe that he's ever had to use auto-tune. He has good intonation and he has good ears for timbre. As someone who teaches this, it's really obvious that he often even catches the timbre of originals when he does covers of other people's songs. A person couldn't do that if they weren't really gifted that way!!!

It's not very supportive to endlessly criticize people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as many have said here -- Vocal effects have been used since the beginning. Tons of singers use them.
I doubt he uses autotune, but whatever...

For the record, seeing Ed solo last november sealed the deal for me. He hasnt lost much, if anything, as far as how amazing his voice sounds.

    Autotune. :fp:

This is why I log on every day. To see what new negative thing some of you psychopaths have latched onto to complain about. It must be exhausting to live that way.

This music makes me feel good. Anything beyond that falls under the heading of "overthinking it."

That is a great way at looking at things

I remember reading a book about Bob Dylan albums and the author said something just like that. You should rate music based on how it makes you feel.

The first time I heard your (OP) Auto tune in Pendulum... I was like... Whoa, that was different...
I honestly thought Ed melted into Mike's guitar for a second(Hinting at distortion effects etc)... oh whatever! lol
On the other hand... there is a damning photo out there... Eddie hangin' out with One Direction and junk... hmmmmm maybe it is Auto tune... oh no... Ed Say it ain't so!

This has been said already but that's not auto-tune in Pendulum. Reverb/delay/distortion, yes, but not auto-tune. And it sounds fucking awesome.

I understand that... but you obviously didn't get what I was saying... now that I read back... neither do I... my feeble attempt at sarcasm I guess... I'm sorry Sir...

But I will second your opinion that, Ed's "Auto tune" on Pendulum is fucking awesome! :D

ps. - edited my original response... see what I did there?

Psychopaths? Oh you mean the one guy that doesn't know the difference between auto-tune and reverb and started a trolling thread about it. That's just one psychopath.

I'm not sure it's auto-tune but it does sound like something is detracting from eddie's vocals on a number of tracks on the albums. I can't put my finger on it. It's something done on most modern albums and to my ears it detracts from the vocals.

I know Eddie's voice has changed since the early 90s, but the way his voice was recorded on albums like Vs/Vitalogy/No Code/Yield etc... they never had this effect on it. I guess its from modern production/mastering techniques..... but I like vocalist records to be raw. The more produced it sounds the more it detracts (in my personal opinion).

Every band and every singer uses auto-tune. It's not a criticism in regards to PJ.

I think that's all there will be. It's one thing to troll with a negative opinion like saying you think the new album sucks. While that would surly be unpopular, I'm sure some would agree. But to be flat-out wrong with your facts (this auto-tune bullshit), nobody will support that.
