This documentary in my opinion was made for the serious PJ fan (let’s face it, only a serious fan would watch a 2 hour documentary on PJ) but let the fan down by making a very superficial documentary which gave the fan no more insight on the band than he already had.
On the contrary, it seems to me this film is a 2-hour infomercial designed to attract new fans or re-attract old ones, especially since it's pretty easily available to watch at any time via Netflix. I'm not complaining; I've watched PJ20 about 5x by now! Plus, it reignited my love for them.
I am disappointed in this screenings schedule though... Once again, no love for the south. Although, if this is successful maybe they'll consider live streaming a few concerts nationwide like the NY Metropolitan Opera does.0 -

I requested one in the Northern Virginia area (just outside of DC) for the days leading up to the Baltimore show.
I wonder how many tickets will need to be sold to meet requirements.0 -
Would love a PJ Twenty screening here in Halifax via iMax Experience! :angel:0

I bought a ticket for Baltimore. Who else is going?!
I figure the bootleg alone is worth the $10. The Movie again and the bonus footage will make a cool night. Hopefully the Baltimore show gets enough people!2003: 7/14 NJ ... 2006: 6/1 NJ, 6/3 NJ ... 2007: 8/5 IL ... 2008: 6/24 NY, 6/25 NY, 8/7 EV NJ ... 2009: 10/27 PA, 10/28 PA, 10/30 PA, 10/31 PA

Anyone can add screenings in his/her area. The ones listed here are just the "main" screenings. I added New Orleans. It's really easy if the theater accepts the request.0

Again with this film?????Sorry but I think this whole thing is lame. I already paid in the theater when it first came out. Then the first time it came out on DVD. And then the next round of DVDs when that came out! So you want more money from me?
Now of it were an hour of the making of lightning bolt + listening party with goodie bag giveaways or something ...then maybe I would buy a ticket. Maybe.0 -
Would rather catch a High Def 2K copy of Immagine In Cornice or something than this again."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0

i never thought pearl jam would be playing worcester ma (where i was born and lived for 25 years), and that date is coming quick! then i was totally surprised to see they were doing the PJ20 screening in Millbury, MA (the town i actually lived in for 25 years, with a population of about 13,000). I never thought i'd see worcester AND millbury listed anywhere on this website. so grateful for this!!! in fact i'm gonna be flying in from san diego (where i live), just because i can't have PJ so close to my hometown and miss it. just wanted to share my excitement, as most people i know, don't care all the much about this (aside for being happy for me).0

The film was great for a fan like myself.
I was never able to see in Theaters since there wasn't a showing in my area. Have DVD but would love to see on big screen
Hopefully will get one now.
Would rather see Alpine DVD but this movie is good. It brings back a lot of memories-a Special time in my life. To see the band grow it brings goosebumpsThis is Not For You0 -

PJ 20 was interesting, informative and good for spot viewing on DVD once in a long while but I'll stick with Single Video Theory and various live cuts from the other films until something better comes along like an American Masters or someone like Jarmusch or Demme take a turn at it (not that Crowe hasn't done some great stuff- he has)."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

Release Me wrote:well that's kind of fun, having a screening in my hometown! come to Millbury, they serve food and pitchers of beer at the theater!
Would like to go, but a trip to Millbury on Monday followed by Worcester Tues and Wed is just too much. Who wants to start the rumor that since they are in Worcester the next night some band member(s) show at the screening? :shock:This weekend we rock Portland0 -
Follow up for Northern NJ request:
I got an email saying that I had to confirm that I wanted to be the "movie captain". Upon confirming, Gathr would try to get the theater & date I requested. Once it's set up, I get a link that I have to promote. It said they needed about 100 people (suggested) to RSVP to have screening. My lips are shaking.......0 -
I really wanted to see it in the theater and I couldn't get it played locally. Now there's a downtown theater here in Eugene, Oregon, with a bunch of screens and they serve food and drinks. So I requested a showing. It would basically be a fun party with family and friends to get us all fired up for the shows right around the corner.
I don't get the hate. This is more than I had from this band yesterday. So I guess all I have to say is "thanks."Apr 07, 1994/Oct 01, 1996/Jul 07, 1998/Jul 08, 1998/Aug 29, 1998/Aug 31, 1998/Sep 01, 1998/Sep 03, 1998/Sep 04, 1998/Sep 06, 1998/Jun 01, 2000/Jun 04, 2000/Jun 06, 2000/Oct 20, 2000/Oct 21, 2000/Oct 22, 2000/Oct 24, 2000/Oct 25, 2000/Oct 20, 2001/Oct 21, 2001/May 30, 2003/Jun 01, 2003/Jun 02, 2003/Jun 28, 2003/Jul 02, 2003/Oct 25, 2003/Jul 15, 2006/Jul 16, 2006/Jul 18, 2006/Jul 20, 2006/Jul 22, 2006/Jul 23, 2006/Sep 21, 2009/Sep 22, 2009/Sep 26, 2009/Sep 25, 20110 -

However, no one is telling anyone how to spend their money. If they don't want to go to a showing, they don't have to.Presidential Advice from President-Elect Mike McCready: "Are you getting something out of this all encompassing trip?"0 -
