PJ 20 was interesting, informative and good for spot viewing on DVD once in a long while but I'll stick with Single Video Theory and various live cuts from the other films until something better comes along like an American Masters or someone like Jarmusch or Demme take a turn at it (not that Crowe hasn't done some great stuff- he has).
well that's kind of fun, having a screening in my hometown! come to Millbury, they serve food and pitchers of beer at the theater!
Haven't been to the Elm St Draught house in forever, went a few times when I first started dating my wife who lived in Shrewsbury at the time.
Would like to go, but a trip to Millbury on Monday followed by Worcester Tues and Wed is just too much. Who wants to start the rumor that since they are in Worcester the next night some band member(s) show at the screening? :shock:
I got an email saying that I had to confirm that I wanted to be the "movie captain". Upon confirming, Gathr would try to get the theater & date I requested. Once it's set up, I get a link that I have to promote. It said they needed about 100 people (suggested) to RSVP to have screening.
I really wanted to see it in the theater and I couldn't get it played locally. Now there's a downtown theater here in Eugene, Oregon, with a bunch of screens and they serve food and drinks. So I requested a showing. It would basically be a fun party with family and friends to get us all fired up for the shows right around the corner.
I don't get the hate. This is more than I had from this band yesterday. So I guess all I have to say is "thanks."
Again with this film?????Sorry but I think this whole thing is lame. I already paid in the theater when it first came out. Then the first time it came out on DVD. And then the next round of DVDs when that came out! So you want more money from me?
Now of it were an hour of the making of lightning bolt + listening party with goodie bag giveaways or something ...then maybe I would buy a ticket. Maybe.
However, no one is telling anyone how to spend their money. If they don't want to go to a showing, they don't have to.

I took advantage of the Pearl Jam 10club's offer to bring the movie PJ20 to a local theater. I just got the go ahead, so if anybody in the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area would like to attend it the week leading into the show in Baltimore, I have it showing at Cinema Arts Theater on October 21st at 7:30pm. Looks like we need 75 friends to reserve to make this happen. Would be great to see 20 there and whatever it is about the new Lightning Bolt they were going to be adding.

A few cities have reached the number of people reserving tickets to make these screenings happen, however, there are plenty of cities that haven't reached the minimum.
Gathr screenings can only happen if a minimum number of people reserve tickets before a screening request expires.
On every screening page you'll find an update that shows you the number of current reservations, the number of additional reservations needed to tip the screening, as well as how much time remains before that screening request expires.
When enough people reserve tickets to a screening before time expires, the screening takes place. If the minimum number of reservations is not met, the screening does not take place and nobody is charged.
Seems they're struggling in most markets to get these screenings going, especially in the South and on the West Coast. It'd be a shame if some of these didn't happen as it's probably the last time people will get to see PJ20 in theatre's, so c'mon people, work your friends and family etc to come along to these screenings.
