I was stoked to see that PJ decided to honor my 10 (will be 11) year old with a Birthday show!
December 2nd in Calgary.. Even though one of the farthest destinations for us to get to.. I HAD to do it...
He is flipping of course..
Anybody had/will have the pleasure of a birthday show? What should I do to make it even more awesome?

Never seen them on my birthday (vast majority of shows have been summer dates).
If I recall the only concerts I've attended on my birthday were U2 in 2005 at the TD Boston Garden and Keith Richards and the Expensive Winos in 1989 (I think it was 89) at the Orpheum Theater.
WORCESTER 2 BABY!!!! I mean, I'm still a little miffed that the band didn't decide to throw me a birthday party at MSG and decided to do Barclays 2 days after instead. How thoughtless of them  But I suppose Worcester isn't so bad. Last year I made the decision that if Pearl Jam were to play anywhere in the world on my birthday, I HAVE to be there. So stoked!
I don't know what I'm doing yet other than attempting to get on the rail. I'm trying not to set ridiculous expectations only to be disappointed. Been there, done that, so not worth it.
I don't know how you can make it anymore special for your son, Adam. From what I can tell you've already done everything you can. I'm still contemplating the Worcester Sharks jersey but I dunno..
"..That's One Happy Fuckin Ghost.."
“..That came up on the Pillow Case...This is for the Greek, With Our Apologies.....”
I did however score some Cornell tix for my first ever b-day show.
PS: I think flying your kids 1,000s of miles to another country to catch a Pearl Jam show scores quite a few "cool dad" points

AND since the band has a poster for every show, your show will have something to commemorate his special day that he shared with his Dad. Dad's are the best! You two will have a blast!
Me too, August 29th, 2000!
Edit-how the fuck did I forget they played in Camden on my bday in late 90's. fucken weed man!
My birthday is July 18th which happened to be the day before Wrigley. That turned out to be a pretty decent show!
I may not have seen the show on my birthday but I got to stand in a merch line for 3 hours and meet some really cool people! Plus I'll always be able to look back and see my friend & I standing in that line on that cool YouTube video of the line that day!

Sometimes I get a hockey game scheduled on my birthday.
So I've got that going for me ... which is nice.
The re-birth of Leash. Fucking awesome.
I proposed to my wife that night after the show from the dirty floor of Bukowski Tavern, where we had our first date about 7 years before. We were even sitting at the same table.
The poster hangs in our daughter's room.

Only shows I've been to on or around my birthday were Dr. Dog in 2010 which was a lot of fun and we saw Jane's Addiction at the Santa Barbara Bowl on the eve of my 21st birthday. SB Bowl shows end at 10pm due to curfew so we were still able to hit the town once the clock struck midnight.
I'm with SuzieMay in thinking that if they play anywhere on my birthday, I'll probably have to make the trip!
I have been fortunate to see Eddie Vedder on my Birthday 11/28 (and Matt Cameron’s Birthday too) last year when Ed was in Orlando. Yes, I lost the lotto for all of the tickets I requested but luckily I still made it to the show. I drove up from Miami Beach and I had to buy the poster and the postcard / t-shirt that night as a memory. It was the best Birthday yet!! Then I was able to see Ed for the next 2 shows in Fort Lauderdale for my Birthday weekend, it was truly amazing!
