I've been listening to it while playing that part in my head during the Ed tantrum and it seems like it would work and resolve itself perfectly into that ebow solo. Anyway, guess we'll have to see.

I just thought he was pissed with the actual lightning bolts in the sky. All the lightning was coming from the direction he pointed at (Mikes side). I don't think he's ever got pissed with a band members playing on stage?

I don't think deviating from the way the lyrics were written or recorded is necessarily wrong. I mean its their song, they could repeat the same verse over and over if they want. I'm more into the musicality of the whole thing anyway... Its Ed's voice and melodies that make it all work so well anyway. He can still make a song work even if he completely forgets a verse and just hums the melody.

I think its worse when he (or they) mess up the music ... Like Ed starting the first verse of "In My Tree" on the wrong chord at the wrong time like PJ20 Alpine Valley (I think he was having trouble hearing Jeff though).

I don't think it has anything to do with the wine. As a singer, you can fuck up a song very easily, even if you have sung it a million times. Its just something in the brain that does not click....or over clicks

I don't know how often that happens, but Smile got butchered badly at a few shows I was at. Copenhagen had a completely new song.

I think that was a whole band fuckup though.
