It's the Pacific chill. I don't know what it is, but the Northwest (including Vancouver) is pretty subdued. There have been exceptions in Vancouver as far as the crowd goes, i.e. at Judas Priest and KISS and, surprisingly, The Killers... But more often than not, crowds in the region do tend to lack energy. I really don't know why this is. I grew up here, and I'm not like that, so have no clue what the cause is. I just keep hoping that it will get better as time goes on... It got worse. Wasn't really an issue until probably the 2000s. So if it can come, it surely can go too. Anyway, I doubt the Seattle PJ show will be like that because of the GA and a lot of members are coming in for it. Same with Vancouver, hopefully.
what i find funny is that if i go to a string of shows that include seattle or van plus other areas, it is a lot of the same people...but then i hear that seattle crowds aren't as "into" the show? but in calgary, those same people rock :? (talking sepcifically about the fan club area). i guess i'm just sensitive, like when eddie "yelled" at the first few rows during olé at the last vancouver show...i was jumping as high as i could! honest!
When I was on the Canadian tour Calgary and Edmonton were pretty amped up. When my ticket buddy won the seat lottery for Edmonton, I made a sign, 'Love from Seattle-see you in Vancouver' Mike came over (we were on Stone's side) read my sign and mouthed 'thank you' and stayed there playing his Alive solo right in front of me, and then handed me his pick. Glad I proved to them I wasn't a typical non-excited Seattleite. They know some of us are out there.

Okay, I don't want to crush anyone's dreams or anything, but I guess I should post this: I had sent a futile email to 10C about lotto options for those who didn't try for a Seattle 1 IF there would be a Seattle 2 with the same rules as Worcester, and they replied with:
"Sorry there are no plans for a second Seattle show.
-10c"
I wasn't even sure if I should post this, just in case they are simply trying to keep it under wraps, like, throw me off the scent, or are being technical about it, i.e. haven't completed plans for it or no plans YET but there will be or something. :? You'd think they just wouldn't have replied at all if that were the case maybe, but who knows. 10C also likes the cloak and dagger thing sometimes .... Anyway, I figured I should offer all info possible to those who are hoping for this.... Definitely not a good email to receive. Who thinks that's the bottom line, and there will be no second show in Seattle?

This is disappointing, if there really isn't a second show
Yeah... Somehow I'm tempted not to believe it... It just seems like everything is set for a second show even though 10C said this... This may be a sign of me suffering from PJ delusion though. :fp:

I got a similar reply.
"Please know there are no plans for a second Seattle show."
(But plans may change, yes?)

Exactly.... Plans change all the time. :P

Were you really expecting them to answer a question regarding a show they haven't announced yet? The 10c/PJ camp is pretty tight lipped. I'd expect them to not say anything until they've announced it.

Sounds reasonable.
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!

I was not expecting them to say anything at all actually, and know that they're tight lipped... I thought that at best they might set the email aside and answer it after an announcement happened, and really I just thought it would act as a message just informing them of an issue a member was having. I certainly never asked if the show was happening, and was careful to let them know that I knew it was only a matter of IF. So of course I didn't think they'd confirm an unannounced show with an answer... But also didn't really think they'd actually deny it... although I did feel naive when I got the reply. Immediately my mind said, "Oh yeah?? Well, I'll just wait and see." That's why I almost didn't say anything about this... Didn't want to dash hopes when I still think a second show is a possibility. But then I felt like it wasn't fair not to say anything for those waiting.

I would really be suprized if there wasnt a sencond show. What reason if any would there be for not having one? honestly. I think it will happen...
that's sounds the most likely reason for the vagueness....otherwise wouldn't they have said something along the lines of 'please know, there will not be a second seattle show'

No, but my question was geared more towards their criteria for eligibility for a second show draw (Seattle was named as a potential example).
Anyway, I am not convinced that there won't be a second show. Plans may yet materialize. :P
I am just a dreamer, but you are just a dream... If I knew where it was I would take you there.
I am a new member, active as of July 12 this year. That being said, I did not get in the lottery for ANY shows, let alone the Worcester #1. When I go to http://pearljam.com/tickets, at the bottom of the page, I am able to click on the "Worcester Show Added" link, choose GA standing for Worcester #2 as first choice, click CONTINUE, and get to the billing section where it's asking for my CC info. I don't want to go to that show, but it looks like, IF I WANTED, I could enter the lottery for night 2 at Worcester. AGAIN, I did not enter into the lottery before for any shows, and based on what everyone is saying, I SHOULDN'T be able to enter into this lottery.
I am hoping if there is a 2nd show in Seattle, I'll be able to enter. Just as it seems that I can for Worcester.
From PJ Ticket site:
"Only members who entered the drawing for the first Oct 15th Worcester show and whose names were not selected for either GA or Reserved tickets are eligible for this drawing. Members who fall into this category but whose memberships are expired are not eligible for this drawing. Members active as of Monday, July 29th are eligible for this ticket drawing. New memberships and membership renewals purchased after that date are not considered eligible for this ticket drawing pre-sale. Members who already have Ten Club tickets for the Worcester Oct 15th date are not eligible."
I am a member active as of July 29th. Is that why I am able to get in without getting in the lottery for the first night??
Any thoughts?
Please, Pearl Jam, consider a Benaroya Hall vinyl reissue!
Someone should call ticketmaster and inquire about a second Seattle show. Maybe someone working there will spill the beans.
That's already been done, and what they've said does suggest that will be a second show.... But it's Ticketmaster... We don't actually trust them that much, so it's really still an unknown.

Well, that is interesting. I just clicked on that show too and got the same screen. I didn't proceed to choose a show, but should I be able to see this screen if i'm theoretically not eligible (cause I didn't choose Worcester in the first place)? The scenario would be the same for me for a second Seattle show...
You already quoted the answer... Maybe you missed this -
"Only members who entered the drawing for the first Oct 15th Worcester show and whose names were not selected for either GA or Reserved tickets are eligible for this drawing."
Which means yes you can enter, but if you did not enter the first time you will either be removed before the drawing, or, if your name is pulled as a winner but you didn't put in the first time you are disqualified and therefore are not eligible.
Being an active member only means, if your membership expired between the 1st and 2nd lotto, your not eligible. Just because your an active member doesn't mean you can and will win tickets.
Anyone can enter. Any member! But again if you enter but did not select Boston the first time, then you are not allowed to win tickets.
Thinking about emailing 10c about the glitch with Worcester 2. Not to be a jerk, but they're trying to help those who lost (ahem, me). Like Hell, should someone who won other shows be qualified to win, when some of us got completely shut out. :x

Underground Tour = AMAZING AND FASCINATING

Cool. Just like the Halifax Harbor Hopper Tour. http://www.mtcw.ca/harbourhopper/Shore.php
I got the same reply too. :(
We just gotta have faith ..
The underground tour is definitely fascinating and amazing. The adult version is the best one.
But I also think the Duck tour was silly and fun.
