Wrigley merch

Really agree with this. Why are eBay people the ones profiting from this instead of the band (and by extension, potentially even all the charities that the guys favor.) Wouldn't you prefer your money goes to the inner city program Ed was talking about instead of your money lining the pocket of THAT guy who was taking advantage of the system and walking around with 15 poster tubes and later putting them online at 5-7 times the selling price?I just don't get limiting stuff like this. You make more money the more t-shirts you sell. Seems like there are literally thousands of people who could not get the merch they wanted. Give the band more money! Print more merch so we can all buy it and support the band I love.
Whenever the requirement for getting concert merchandise is to stand in line for four hours the day BEFORE the show even begins? That's when you know things have really gone off the rails...0 -
lmao!! SOME? Try at least 1/2! One guy had to go back to his room to recharge their cells phones because they died IN LINE after 2 hours!!! We got up close and all the shirts were GONE!JS188455 wrote:I just can't believe from reading a couple posts that some of the hotel package winners had as hard of a time as they did not getting what they wanted0 -

That is insane!! I said some only because I saw 2 postings about it. I would have bet that the package winners would have been taken care of. That was supposed to be one of the biggest perks!0 -

Exactly my thoughts, once I heard that people were standing in for 4+hours, it just wasn't worth spending a half day plus of my first trip to Chicago. Like everyone else, I would of loved a t shirt or a poster from the show. Oh well hopefully an official boot will come at least. Bottom line, it was amazing to be in the building?Gorge0 -

All I wanted was poster and a Wrigley shirt that would fit me. Couldn't get either and I was in line at 1pm Friday.1994: ANN ARBOR

Everybody has already kind of hit on the same things I saw but I'll share my experience too. First off, I understand it was my choice to wait in line so long for this stuff but there was also a lot of miscommunication and things were very unorganized.
We made it to Chicago around 3pm on Thursday and on our walk to the hotel someone commented on my poster tubes (empty at the time) and asked if I was able to get both posters. After I told him we just got here he said the posters sold out at 1:30. So we got checked in and went down to Wrigley anyway at 4:30, walked past the first merch tent closest to the train station and decided to go around the corner to the tent on Clark where the line looked shorter. Ended up waiting an hour and a half to find all they had left were size S and XL shirts, a couple hats, and the wristbands. Bought the red/blue PJ hat just to get something and tried it on back at the hotel to find that it doesn't fit right at all for me.
Was hoping to get the blue Wrigley shirt, the cracker jack poster and a pennant and with the way the lines were decided we would just go to the preparties on Friday and then go inside Wrigley at 5:30 when the gates open to try then. Couldn't sleep on Thursday and got up before 8am to see the 10club had emailed over night saying 1 merch tent would open at 10am and others would hopefully open earlier than noon and encouraged people to go to these instead of merch stands inside Wrigley. Checked the live webcam at Wrigley and didn't see a line and figured since I was already up we would go down there and get stuff early.
Got to Wrigley a little after 9am to see that the merch line on Clark was going in the opposite direction on Friday than it was on Thursday so that's why I couldn't see it on the webcam. Walked around the corner and found a merch line on the North side of the stadium with only about 40 people in line. Since the tent was supposed to be open by noon at the latest (and maybe early) figured we'd wait and still be done shortly after noon. That was at 9:30am. Went on a drink run to McDonalds at 10:30am and saw the merch stand that was supposed to open at 10am still wasn't open. Got back to our spot in line, merch tent finally started getting organized a little before noon but took quite a long time to get everything unpacked and start taking orders. Meanwhile some people had tried cutting in line, tried standing by the register asking people to buy them stuff, etc. Ended up taking us over 5 hours to get merch and still missed out on the pennant and they only had 3 out of 4 of the posters (no Ames prints).
Then we sit in our seats at the show in the upper deck and can watch the merch line on the field at Wrigley where the line was not that long in comparison to what they were outside. They seemed to have a much larger supply of posters as they were selling them for a long time. Then we leave the show to see the new setlist t-shirts for sale, like one more last cash grab before fans leave.
Anyway, I know that's a long post and not writing this to bitch about it but just sharing what it was like for us. I know selling the merch a couple days early was an attempt to make it easier on people but there has to be a better way to do this, online poster pre-sales, something.1998 - Noblesville

I was surprised 10C let everyone and anyone by two of each design outside the venue, when posters sold on the website are limited to only members and only one per person.

Yeah definitely not the band's fault at all. Just thought overall the merch situation could have been handled way better than it was.0 -
The merchandise was not the fault of the 10 c, they had plenty of stands set up, I have been to plenty of big shows with just as many attendees and more and have never seen merchandise lines like this. To me it seems like it had more to do with concert attendees, I saw plenty of people with bags full of merchandise in lines looking to buy more and even saw a guy who just purchased a poster flip it 2 feet away from the merchandise stand. I would have liked to have seen the merchandise on sale on the website weeks leading up to the show, thats probably the only way to solve some of these problems ... as for now it is what it is.I have certain rules I live by ... You shoulda had to show a ticket to buy outside the stadium on days leading up to the show. People know what all this shit is worth on the secondary market these days. It was a flipper's paradise.
At the end of the day I didn't lose sleep over it. I knew I was officially over my PJ fanaticism when I laughed and went right to my seat upon entering instead of fighting the crowds for merch0 -

Yeah like I said I didn't even bother waiting in line at the hotel. I was surprised that it wasn't "easier" to get merch there as that was one of the supposed perks of the travel package. I have a strong feeling though that there were a lot more people there than the travel package winners though. I'm sure word got out, and there really wasn't anything to stop anyone from coming in that didn't win the package from what I could see. Walk in through the front door and go downstairs and get in line. Maybe you had to show proof somewhere, but I didn't wait in line to find out.1998-06-30 Mpls | 2006-07-06 Las Vegas

I was surprised that they ran out of t-shirts at the W Hotel merch line but had plenty of posters, usually it's the other way around. I admit that I bought the complete set of posters but I could of easily purchased more if I wanted to as the guy behind the counter said he didn't care if wanted to buy more.
The perk of the travel package for me was being able to wait in a merch line that wasn't 5 hours long and was air conditioned. Plus I met a lot cool people while waiting so the travel package was worth it in my opinion.

I don't blaim them for the cc machine as that is technology and the hotel put them in the basement. What they could have done was to give you a form to fill out and have it delivered to your room. We were supposed to get that service in the package if I remember correctly.
At the very least, if they ran out of something they should have grabbed one and give it to you the next day. I ran into a couple that stood in line at the hotel and didn't get anything. Plus I'm not 100% sure that everyone at the hotel line were 10c travel package winners.
Yeah, whoever thought that it was a good idea to put a wireless cc reader in the basement of a high rise in downtown Chicago should be fired
I agree with you, the perk was supposed to be the in-room ordering, not to wait for two hours in a stairwell and basement hallway only to get up to the table to find out that the only shirts available were S-L.
The merch was a complete clusterfuck everywhere all weekend.
Other than that, the package was great. Thanks to the lines, we meet some cool people from all over. The bbq was awesome, and the concert was phenomenal. Other than the rain and complete cluster that ensured after the delay when we were attempting to get back into the GA area."Then the Spirit of God hovered over the water, and God said, Let there be music, and there was Pearl Jam."
Whose idea was it for the word "Lisp" to have an "S" in it?0 -
there is a used ticket stub visibly damaged and a removed green wrist band on ebay right now for $70. Is this freaking serious? I feel like in a couple years they're going to come out with Hoarders: The Pearl Jam Memorabilia Edition or an American Pickers special where they go hunting for Wrigley Merch!
That said, when I saw the photos of the merch being offered I was excited because they haven't released any ladies sized shirts that I liked since the 08 reaper shirt, and I really liked the tank. My buddy waited on line outside wrigley on thursday for 3.5 hours, got his posters and stuff but they didn't have that shirt. I waited for about a half hour on the Cubs Merch line out by the Captain Morgan club, only to find that they only had that shirt in mediums. Saw a drunk dude offer the next guy in line $10 to buy him one of the $5 stickers. I had zero intention of waiting for hours in a merch line, so we just went inside once the gates opened. saw the first merch stand and the madness there and moved down the concourse to the next one. Everything was fine until the line got too long and blocked the space for people to pass through, so people started to wrap around and cut in front. It was unpleasant to say the least, especially once tempers started flaring. I'm pretty short and I was surrounded by extra tall dudes, some other people pushed their way in between me and the girl I was waiting in line with and I ended up coming out of the line a looooong time after she did, but I did not time it. I DID however, score the tank I wanted, as well as a gray shirt that says PJ Wrigley Field July 19 2013, which is extra awesome especially since it was a surprise (i didn't see it on the preview email thing) So YAY! Thank you PJ Merch designers for finally designing cool ladies shirts! Now let's talk about how low the back of those tanks should start
The first thing I said when I PLOWED my way out of that line was 'now I won't have to wait in another merch line for PJ shirts for yeeeeeeears!'NYC 06/24/08-Auckland 11/27/09-Chch 11/29/09-Newark 05/18/10-Atlanta 09/22/12-Chicago 07/19/13-Brooklyn 10/18/13 & 10/19/13-Hartford 10/25/13-Baltimore 10/27/13-Auckland 1/17/14-GC 1/19/14-Melbourne 1/24/14-Sydney 1/26/14-Amsterdam 6/16/14 & 6/17/14-Milan 6/20/14-Berlin 6/26/14-Leeds 7/8/14-Milton Keynes 7/11/14-St. Louis 10/3/14-NYC 9/26/15

What I don't understand is the efforts the 10club has gone to make it fair for all members to get a chance at getting tickets with the new lottery system, yet they open up merch stands so that any flipper and scammer on the street can purchase items?
It would seem logical that exclusive access to exclusive merchandise should be a perk of joining a fan club. How hard would it be to guarantee that getting a pair of tickets guarantees you the ability to buy one poster and one t-shirt for that unique show?
I'm not gonna say that the 10club people don't do a good job, because they do alot for us. But as it is with any business, you can always do better, and I think many of the complaints/suggestions are reasonable with how things went down.Pittsburgh ('00), Cleveland ('03), Pittsburgh ('03), Grand Rapids ('04), Cleveland ('06), Pittsburgh ('06), Chicago ('07), West Palm Beach ('08), Tampa ('08), Chicago (both nights) ('09), Seattle (both nights) ('09), Philly (all 4 nights) ('09), Noblesville ('10), Columbus ('10), Cleveland ('10), Toronto (both nights) ('11), Wrigley ('13), Pittsburgh ('13), Wrigley (both nights) ('18)0 -
In the poster world isnt a rare poster like 300 and under? There must have been so many printed up of each one that there could be 1000 of each. I hope people dont overpay right now. They were sold each day at what 3 or 4 stands? I would wait to buy Wrigley merch if you want some.0

The merch situation kind of bummed me out. I didn't have time to wait outside all day Wednesday, Thursday or Friday for merch as I didn't get into town until Friday afternoon. Luckily, there was a stand outside section (#4). It was a smaller one (inside a side room), so the line was pretty organized. Of course, they ran out of posters before I got there. Still, got a Wrigley T-shirt for myself and another PJ shirt for my lady. Was only in line about 25-30 minutes.
However, I sat next to the douchiest of all poster douches during the show. This clown had two copies of each of the four posters (!!!). I offered him $70 for one of the prints on the spot. He considered for the entire show then said he just "couldn't do it, man." Yea, I might have lowballed him, but it was all the cash I had at the time.
I just wish we could order the posters online again. I'll even pay up to $60 to 10C if I can get it ahead of time. So many sadsss.
Oh well. Just a poster..0 -
Great idea, but better yet; first offer the merch to 10C members who received tickets brought the club. Would not be difficult whatsoever.tribejammer05 wrote:There's a Members Only section of the Shop. Fill that sucker up!33...0
